I also want to point out that Hyun-Jin Ryu's ERA over his last 6 games per ESPN is 4.62 with a 4.17 ERA for the current season. That may be good enough for the Pirates or Twins but it certainly doesn't pass muster with the higher standard of being a Dodgers starting pitcher.

Granted, in his last 4 games, Ryu has a 3.48 ERA, which makes him a more palatable option as a 4th or 5th starter, but can he continue to progress and improve? I know Neddy has faith that he will continue to do so, but I'm not there yet.

Why are you guys such big sticklers for the 3rd time through the order? Doesn't every pitcher have that issue (naturally)? Aren't you basically an ace if youre getting through the lineup the 3rd time well (aka averaging over 6 IP per start)??

I think the numbers suggest a pitcher will drop off at that point.

Anywho.
Didn't come here for that. Just saw Ranma mention it.

Came in here to say I'm cringing at the idea of bringing A-Gon into the fold.
Chris Taylor > A-Gon.
I'm not moving Chris out of LF....for Cody....to accomodate A-Gon.

Trade this man.
Eat all of the money if we have to. It's better than keeping him here and paying him to be useless and upset what we've started.

Chris Taylor is the best LF in all baseball in WAR according to fangraphs. there is no doubt that at this point Chris is the better player. however, I do want Gonzo back as a professional, exclusive pinch hitting role come the post season.

yeah his BABIP isn't sustainable for much longer, but I am gonna ride his wave until it crashes. he is currently the best LF in all of baseball, offensively speaking.

as much as there is the hype of adding another ace, this start is an audition for Wood to prove that we won't need to overpay.

Our team defense used to be a source of pride but it's been embarrassingly lazy of late. Corey's making a bad habit of throwing the ball off-line to first base.

we endured Steve Sax. Seager is gonna be fine.

and now we tied the game.

baseball is a crazy game, wouldn't you say? I hated Joc for missing that flyball, then he get us a run with a double. I hated Taylor for dropping that "dying Quail" when Alex was still winning. he hits double to tie.

NOW SEAGER GOES YARD!!!!

6-4. we are about to get to 72-31.

I really like Brandon Morrow. he seems like the "other" set up guy we have been looking for.

Yeah, Morrow was absolutely filthy in the 7th inning. If he can get some consistency in his performance, our bullpen can be dominant, especially if we obtain a left-handed fireballer at the deadline.

If you're SF, don't you deal anything that's not Posey and Bumgarner?

You run the risk of pissing Bumgarner off but the appeal is, "look. be honest. We aren't going anywhere but we have Posey signed and we are building this team around you."
