Kershaw Gives Up 4th Homer of the Game

Post#81 » by Ranma » Sat Oct 7, 2017 5:13 am

Kershaw leaves the game after giving up back-to-back homers in the 7th inning. Luckily, he is still in line to win the game but Baez better not be a consideration for any of the remaining innings.

Don't even know what to say... Looks like Kershaw doesn't know what happened either.

The 2017 POSTSEASON thread.

Post#83 » by Quake Griffin » Sat Oct 7, 2017 5:18 am

He never does.

I’m over it.

Any recipe for a chip has to be considered with us picking up the slack for his October shortcomings.

I don’t EVER see him throwing a complete game gem in October. I’m not sure he’s even started a playoff game and touched the 8th inning in his career.

Kershaw Not Alone as Shell-Shocked Pitcher

Post#84 » by Ranma » Sat Oct 7, 2017 5:22 am

To be fair to Kershaw, almost all the aces for the other playoff teams have been shelled as well. Adjusting to the new juiced ball doesn't help matters for the pitchers, but your point about Kershaw's postseason track record is duly noted.

Meanwhile, Kyle ‘Greg Maddux’ Hendricks tosses another gem in October...shutting out the Nats.

No doubt.

I’m frustrated but I think I’m keeping him in perspective. He will have good October starts. He will have bad ones.

I just don’t think he will ever be Schilling, Beckett, or Bum in October. It’s fine to me as long as we own it, face it, and embrace it. Don’t build this team like he’s gonna put this team on his back in October. He won’t.

It’s also fine to me because...yeah, good luck figuring which guys are gonna be like Kyle Hendricks (good but up their game in October) when you’re scouting and drafting. Complete crapshoot imo.

Not getting Puig in there is frustrating.

Let’s go Morrow!

Forsythe Making My Foresight Look Bad

Post#93 » by Ranma » Sat Oct 7, 2017 5:38 am

What was Forsythe thinking waiting to grab that ball off the bounce instead of going all out to catch it in the air? Seager bails him out by corralling the double-play grounder to end the 8th inning.

98% chance he took a hit of PCP before that inning.

My Boy Barnes

Post#95 » by Ranma » Sat Oct 7, 2017 5:44 am

Barnes keeps doing things with his pinch-hit single to lead off the bottom of the 8th inning.

1-0... Took care of Kershaw... Which is all good.

But Arizona is no joke... When we get them down we need to put a foot on their neck and keep pushing.
