Kershaw Out-Hitting Miami Marlins (Not Anymore)

Post#801 » by Ranma » Wed Apr 27, 2016 3:24 am

Through 4 innings, Clayton Kershaw has struck out 7 batters and given up only one hit while also going 2-for-2 at the plate with an RBI double.

Apparently, Crawford might have mis-played the lone hit that was charged to Kershaw. Plus, Clayton seems to be in sync with Grandal as his battery mate so far.

Update: Crawford was slow to get the pitch back in from LF that scored a run, but it ended up not mattering as Kershaw just gave up a 3-run HR to put the Dodgers down 5-3. What the heck?!

Cant remember the last time Kershaw gave up 5 in an inning....
Thought that only happens in the playoffs...

Out of Sorts in Left Field

Post#804 » by Ranma » Wed Apr 27, 2016 4:08 am

Geez crimeny! What the eff is Crawford doing out there?! Gordon burns him for a double with CC playing shallow in LF. For a supposed leftfielder, Crawford looks lost out there.

Update: Crawford ends the inning on a flyball to left field but his legs were scrambling to get underneath it and he one-handed the catch at that.

Even if Trayce or **** would have made the mistakes, I'd rather my young controllable players make the mistakes in LF that he's making and learn than have him just being the same sucky player he always is all the damn time.

At least with young guys, they should learn from their mistakes.
CC just doesn't care anymore. We should try and trade him to the Rays

Lacking in Justice

Post#809 » by Ranma » Wed Apr 27, 2016 4:56 am

We'd have to eat a large chunk of salary to dump Crawford, but it'd be worth it. It's a damn shame that Austin Barnes can't find a roster spot when one is just handed to Carl Crawful. I even suspect that Crawford is almost intentionally getting hurt so that he can't get traded from L.A. He seems all too comfortable here.

http://www.latimes.com/sports/dodgers/la-sp-dodgers-mailbag-bullpen-20160425-story.html

Found this comment interesting from this article because I've been looking for anything on Frankie Montas

"The timeline has not changed. Frankie Montas has been cleared to throw bullpen sessions at the team’s complex in Camelback Ranch. He could be ready to contribute by June, maybe even early May.

Manager Dave Roberts said the team will stretch Montas out as a starter during his rehabilitation. But if necessary, the team can shift him into a relief role. That strategy makes sense, as there are some in the game who still think Montas can be a useful starter. But in 2016, his best value will come in relief, and that’s probably how you will see him used in the major leagues."

These were posted on the 20th....but say he is ready to go in early May (which i doubt)....that's next week.

Trayce drops too far back on another ball that's 30-40 yards in front of him.

No dive to save him this time.

Bases loaded and one out for the Dodgers and the ump just ejected both the Marlins pitcher and Mattingly.

This team hasnt hit for **** since San Diego.

Even in Colorado we'd get hot for an inning and do NOTHING for large stretches of the game.

Waste of Good Pitching and Table-Setting

Post#815 » by Ranma » Fri Apr 29, 2016 4:26 am

Utley got on base again on a hit-by-pitch, I think. Seager then strikes out, which leaves 2 on and 2 out in the 7th with the Dodgers down by 2 runs. Dee Gordon ties the game on Maeda's 101st pitch in the 7th inning, but Baez allows two more runs to score including a balk. Gordon then flubs an A-Gon grounder that would have loaded the bases but Utley rounds 2B and is picked off on the attempt to return.

Oh, Crawford not only can't hit a lick, but his noodle arm in LF allowed the tying run to cross the plate running from 2B. Kendrick hasn't helped matters either. Such a letdown the top 2 hitters atop our lineup got on base in 3 consecutive plate appearances each.

Edit: I'm switching back and forth and now we're down 5-2 in the 8th inning with Puig rung up on a called 3rd strike that was inside and totally off the plate.

Just like these current Dodgers to give us the most embarrassing outcome.

Swept at home by Donnie Double Switch.
**** annoying and embarrassing.

Worse, I'm not even sure the Marlins did this by playing so well. This might have been us being inept the whole way through.

Does Baez EVER enter a game and hold the runners?

He can only workto start an inning with no one on base?

Swept by Marlins in 4-Game Series

Post#818 » by Ranma » Fri Apr 29, 2016 5:11 am

We get another run but still end up with the loss. Our offense would be so much better without the deadweight on the roster forced into the lineup. Yeah, Baez in high-pressure, leveraged situations is unreliable.

Carl Crawford Carl Crawford Carl Crawford.

ANYBODY ELSE get that feeling like....oh that ball was hit hard to left, we might have him at the plate.....
OH WAIT THAT'S **** CARL CRAWFORD IN LEFT FIELD SO IT DOESNT MATTER IF THE BALL GOT TO HIM AT 300 MPH HE'S NOT THROWING ANYBODY OUT!!!!

I'm not asking for a perfect baseball team.
I'm asking for the screw ups to be put to use on developing talent.

PAY HIM NOT TO BE HERE.

I get it....in 2013 when he came back, he could hit somewhat and we were really just bitching about how much he costs compared to his production even though he was some what a plus player. IT'S NOT 2013 ANYMORE! HE'S NOT A PLUS PLAYER! He had a 0.4 fWAR last year. That's like absolutely nothing basically.

I can't believe we have some of the greatest baseball minds in our front office and this filth is hogging up a roster spot.
