Better, it feels like Wood earned that trust from Dave.

He's not at his best but hes pitches out of traffic all night.

Joe Davis mentioned on the telecast that Zaidi admitted that the Dodgers targeted certain pitchers in trade based on individual matchups, then proceeded to note that Cingrani pitched well against Bryce Harper and Anthony Rizzo.

I knew he'd be a work in progress, but Cingrani really needs to change his approach. He gives into hitters too easily in placing that ball over the plate. He's got to get away from being a meatball server. I think he has good stuff but he really needs to totally revamp his approach and mentality.

Edit: After giving up 3 earned runs before recording an out in the 9th inning, he finally struck out 2 batters to end the game.

shows all of his repertoire, but it didn't differentiate the different pitches even among the same pitch type he has.

he's got 3 different curve, if you pay attention. he's got a tight curve that gets to the home plate in a hurry around upper 70s. then his got a looping one at high 50s he rarely throws but shows every once in a while. then his got his high 60 low 70s curve he usually uses as a lure. but more importantly, he sports two very distinctive sliders. I don't know if it is by design or that is just how it ends up regardless of intentions, but he has one slider that has a more drastic vertical movement, then another that tilts diagonally with far more lateral movement than the other. when he throws one that is vertically moving slider, then a lateral slider, then throw a 97 mph fastball, it is an automatic 3 pitch strike out.

Looked like Darvish might have had nerves to start the game and just over powered his way through the first couple innings.

Looks like his curve got better as the game went along.

Happy with the stat line but I don't think that was his best.
