I was debating about not jinxing it but I wanted people to be aware just in case since I only found out by a Kings fan posting while I was watching the hockey game against the Blackhawks. I got to think Ryu's extended time on the basepaths was a factor as he gave up a hit off the second pitch of the 8th inning. It's a shame to miss out on history but a worthy effort nonetheless.

I hope the team holds on to get him the win.

That long bottom of the 7th screwed him.

but you know, there is a reason why in 125 years of the history of the Dodgers, there have only been 1 perfect game, by Sandy Koufax in 1965.

considering that there have only been 23 perfect games in the entire history of 135 years of MLB, it probably was improbable.

still, what a performance. especially coming after Beckett's no-no, it must have been extremely motivating for Ryu, glad to see this young man and his tremendous focus when he wants it. should come very handy in the playoffs.
