I tend to believe the players int hat scenario.

They have no reason to lie. There's a long list of scenarios that could have happened. It's unlikely the players all conspired to say, "well it was a waste of time and he wanted to DH".

More annoying is how he got concessions from the Angels to accommodate him hitting but seemed less interested in getting concessions from National League teams. Is that really a National League thing or a too chicken to play a position in the field when you're not pitching thing? I have no reason to believe that an NL team wouldn't accommodate him wanting to hit.

Anywho...on to greener pastures for the Dodgers.
He can enjoy mediocrity in Orange County all he wants.
