Keeping that same energy

Post#141 » by Quake Griffin » Mon Aug 20, 2018 2:34 am

As much grief as I have given him over the last 2 offseasons, Kershaw has showed up this second half and found ways to put up zeroes. I'm a little busier at this point in life so I'm not reading as much and following the metrics as much as in year's past but it looks like he is figuring out a way to put these zeroes up with reduced stuff.

I do not trust him as far as I can throw him in a playoff start but I have to agree that he has done his part as the guy who can pull us through a regular season like he did 2011-2015.

**** running us out of the bottom of the 8th tells you just about everything you need to know about this team.

Stupid.
Unfocused.
Undisciplined.

4.5 out.
5 out in the loss column.

34 games left.

Good news:
7 more against AZ
3 more in Coors

Bad news:
7 more against AZ
3 more in Coors.

Sprinkle in a 4 game set with the red hot Cardinals in StL in 3 weeks as well.

I think our run is over guys. No 90s Braves. Not a ring to show for 5 straight division titles. Just 5 chokes. 5 heartaches...and a disappointing season that wasn’t necessary.

Im not gonna lie, I did not see Matt Kemp being productive still this deep into the season. he has been slumping for a little while until the last few games, but boy is he still coming through when it counts the most.

where is my plate of crow? I would also like to call it Jim. I would like my Jim deep fried, please.

We're getting healthy at the right time too.

There's reason to be optimistic today.
8 out of the last 9.

Why beat the D-backs 3 to 1 if you're just gonna come **** the bed against the Mets.

****. I was just starting to think this team might have found their mojo.

**** Ryu, just when I think this fatass bro got his mojo back, he **** gives up what? 11 hits today? what good is 8K if you give up more hits than Ks. I understand Grandal **** dropped that ball from Joc, but even if that out was made, he would still have ended up on the losing side after giving up more runs later.

I can't get a read on this guy anymore. he seems strong enough, he seems to have regained his confidence beyond his rookie year... maybe he is being arrogant and becoming careless? maybe this is his ceiling, I suppose.

footnote... we have two kids from my local area right now playing for the Dodgers.

shout out to Zac Rosscup, drafted out of local community college a few years back, and also Rocky Gail, a friend of my ex employee who went to school with him and still friends with.
ehhhhh f it.

Nice to be able to catch a game again... Still in the process of moving.

But watching the tail end of this one is nice... Always good to beat St Louis...

The front office has put Maeda in the bullpen (much like last year)....they've put Wood in the bullpen.

But they've given Ryu the confidence to stay a starter on this team.
Interesting and I hope it works.
