Joe Torre ?
I would like to see the Dodgers make a run at him. Grady Little hasnt proved effective and is on the hot seat. We need a strong coach that both the youngs and olds will repsect and I think Torre would be perfect in Blue.
Cheers.

I would like to see this happen as well. Its not that I dont like Little but its pretty obvious that he can't manage a young team, the Dodgers are even going to be younger next season. Im sure if Little fails to do well again he will be fired next season. I also believe that if the Yankees do get rid of Torre that he will take a year off to assess what he should do. Torre will command the respect of the younger players and they will undoubtly give it to him. Lets also be realistic, the Dodgers are one of few teams who could pay his salary.

Dodgers Might Covet Torre
29th October, 2007 - 8:23 am
New York Post - If divorce proceedings between Grady Little and the Dodgers go the distance, as many expect, The Post has learned Joe Torre has been targeted as the manager to heal a fractured Los Angeles clubhouse.
According to two people with knowledge of the Dodgers' universe, the club and Little are talking about a buyout that would leave the manager's office in Chavez Ravine vacant for Torre to inherit.
Torre, who wants to manage again, is interested in talking to the Dodgers if the job becomes available
Cheers.

Is Joe Torre REALLY the answer?
Without NY Yankee big bucks is he really any good?
Failure everywhere else but New York.
Had the Gazillion Dollar budget in New York.
Will the Dodgers spend the money to get the players?
Can A-Rod come with him?
I am not swooning over this one.
Looks like a Davey Johnson move again........

I have to ask the same question. What kind of a managerial record did he have before he took over as the Yankee's skipper? How many rings did he manage his team to before it became the highest paid team in all of sports? Personally, I think the man is highly over-rated.

A couple of things..
1) he is alot better than Grady Little
2) The Yankees won early in his career with the Yankees with a mix of young players and vets. The Dodgers have that but there is no flux and flow between them. In fact, it was very much an issue last year that most likely costed us the playoffs.
3) Why not ? What do we have to lose? Its been since HS since the once proud Dodgers were in the WS. I am in my mid 30's now.
There is no risk here unless anyone is worried about Franks' money.
