There hasn't much action here lately so I thought I'd put down some of the Dodger happenings this off season.

Re-signed Jason Repko, Scott Proctor, and Yhanci Brazoban to avoid arbitration.

Still negotiating with Joe Beimel.

Don Mattingly stepping down as hitting coach for family reasons.

Andy LaRoche out for a couple months. Looks like third base belongs to Nomar.

Dodgers rookie infielder Andy LaRoche will undergo surgery in Los Angeles to repair a torn ligament in his right thumb, and he will be sidelined for eight to 10 weeks after suffering a freak injury in Friday's 6-4 exhibition loss to the Cardinals.
LaRoche tore the ulnar collateral ligament off the base of his right thumb. He was attempting to catch a pickoff throw from Dodgers catcher Danny Ardoin that deflected off St. Louis base runner D'Angelo Jimenez and struck him on his throwing hand. Surgery involves the use of an anchor suture to reconnect the ligament and part of the metacarpal bone that chipped off.

Tough loss, hopefully Nomar and Kent still has something left in their tank. If anything they keep the veteran leadership, but then again the kids had major problems with these guys late in the season.
