Who should be our 5th starter?

Post#1 » by StrykerKB24 » Mon Mar 10, 2008 5:34 pm

We have a lot of candidates for the 5th spot in the rotation, and I'm hoping someone steps up and takes it. As it looks now Loiaza appears to be the front runner with the biggest surprise being phenom Clayton Kershaw. I was personally hoping that Jason Schmidt would be healthy enough to take the spot, but it looks more and more like he will not be ready by opening day. Who's your pick for the spot?

It BETTER NOT be Loiaza or Chan Ho. Loiaza is the new Hendrickson of this team and Chan Ho is 35 years old with practically nothing left.

Not sure if Schdmit will even be ready to pitch, but the idiot stole money from us so he better provide us something. Talk about Driefort #2.

I am VERY HIGH on Kershaw (Who Isn't?) but at 19 years old I want to be patient with him. He is showing great stuff, but I don't want to expect too much yet. I rather not throw him in there and ask too much of him, but I am SO excited about all the young talents we got on this team. We must nurture Kershaw correctly.

Just throw the kid in there! But in all seriousness, Chan has performed well at Chavez Ravine *well, with Chad Kreuter as his catcher*. I haven't been keeping up with spring training but i'm hearing he's doing pretty well as of now. I"d say Schdmit but his health is a concern to me.

And yes, Schmidt looks like Driefort part 2.

Kershaw will be our future ace. Thank god we didn't traded him. Hopefully we don't kill the kid like all the past hyped up prospects *Edwin Jackson, Joe Thurston, etc*

I vote for CHan Ho Park, he's been pitching pretty damn good so far in ST. Also, we could mention Jason Johnson who's also been pretty decent so far.
