I believe Dean Wade is playing today. Would prefer him to start over Lamar, but they may just be easing him back in.

Little sloppy first but all in all take a 7 point lead after 12 minutes.

Nurkic playing drop on Garland + Mitchell is very funny. They’ve been making him pay.

There were a few good plays involving Allen/Mobley giving a ghost screen to the ballhandler and the setting the real screen for Garland/Mitchell to give them a good path downhill.

Also Allen is slipping screens masterfully when the other Trailblazers defenders were hedging Garland/Mitchell.

Allen had a great first half but still a bit sloppy. Pushed the lead to 9 after 24 minutes.

Third absolutely flew by, Cavs pushed the lead to 12, headed into the 4th.

I’ve really liked how Garland and Mitchell fit together already. There are still some quirks, but when they are clicking they are unstoppable.

Allen couldn’t miss tonight. Felt he got more respect from the refs as well.

Mobley is still struggling to find his self-creation game, but still looks great off-ball.

Looked like the Cavs might open the door there for the Blazers in the 4th but in the end, a great team win.

Good game. I'd really like to see Wade get more run with the starters.

I am surprised that Lamar in the starting lineup is currently working, but I don’t think any team has targeted our lack of shooting in the starting lineup (at least meaningfully).

The Blazers were helping off of Stevens all night. Especially in the post.

It’s not easy to attack with the Garland/Mitchell gravity. It’s just behind Curry/Thompson and right with Lillard/Simmons and no one else is close. 19 3pA tonight.

There was a nice play they ran where Mitchell was involved in a Garland and Allen P&R. When his man had to help with Garland, Mitchell got the pass and in a split second knocked down a 3 before the D could recover.

Stevens has been playing great and Dean looked good too. Neither is seemingly going to get a lot of shots in our offense, so its fair to look for defense from our starting SF.

If we run in to a defense that forces the issue, JBB can sub a better shooter in.

I did find it interesting on the broadcast last night, they said the Cavs play at the 5th slowest pace on offense.

Heh, we're 29th out of 30 teams after the Portland game.

That we have the 4th ranked offense while killing the clock is pretty amazing, and it's not like our turnovers are particularly low (19th) so there's room for improvement if we start taking care of the ball better.

We're 3rd in defensive rating too and 1st in Net Rating. We didn't even nose dive all that much after the 5 game losing streak ... basically made up for the ground we lost with the wins over over the Heat and Hawks.

Pace slows in the playoffs, so it should bode well if they're already playing that way.
