Probably playing injured. Looked to be half hobbled last week.
Last season he played with the messed up calf, knee, hamstring, and groin.
The season before that he played with the messed up groin and ankle.
If it's not that or maybe coupled with that, he's had to sacrifice the most for Kenny's offense to work.
22-23 regular season he averaged 67.7 touches per game, time per possession was 5.6 seconds, 4.96 seconds per touch, and 4.46 dribbles per touch.
22-23 playoffs he averaged 69.4 touches per game, time per possession was 6.4 seconds, 5.5 seconds per touch, and 5.03 dribbles per touch.
23-24 regular season he averaged 79.1 touches per game, time per possession was 6.3 seconds, 4.77 seconds per touch, and 4.41 dribbles per touch.
23-24 playoffs he averaged 69.4 touches per game, time per possession was 6.4 seconds, 5.53 seconds per touch, and 5.3 dribbles per touch.
24-25 regular season he is averaging 59.2 touches per game, time per possession is 4.6 seconds, 4.70 seconds per touch, and 4.29 dribbles per touch.

Players slump, but Dort was practically created in a lab to defend him with how physical he's permitted to play by the league. Mitchell relies on his strength a lot more than a player like Garland to finish through contact or create separation. When he runs into a guy who is as strong or stronger than him, he runs into issues. Same thing has happened with O.G.
OKC really has an embarrassment of riches when it comes to their roster. I can't imagine the havoc they let lose in the West when Hartenstein and Chet get back. They have good players who will go back to the bench and guys who would be important rotation players elsewhere getting DNP'd.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

Watching Mitchell's shot attempts using the live box score, I'd say the bigger problems were that Mitchell kept driving in to a crowd, he often snaked the roll man ignoring our height advantage, he tried to finish cute over length instead of going up and dunking the ball and drawing a foul, his missed his pull-ups/floaters/layups, and our shooters weren't relocating to create a better passing lane and a wide open shot.
Ideally I'd like to see him be more methodical in how he attacks their defense trying to exploit how their defense over helps and scrambles.
