Question...

Post#1 » by Silk Wilkes » Tue Mar 11, 2008 10:32 pm

I'm wondering why doesn't Cleveland just let LeBron play the point? I mean, that's how he came into the league and he would be a nightmare match-up and a half. If you guys are having such a tough time finding a point guard why doesn't LeBron play the point and you go find another small forward since people say they're a dime a dozen?

For all intents and purposes, LeBron does play the point. I however am of the belief that LeBron would be an absolute monster is there were someone tht could dictate tempo for the team and find LeBron in spots for him to score. To be honest, Delonte has been doing a good job, but he's not really a pure point guard. Of course, I'm not sure that the Cavs have to have a pure guard anyway.

Our entire problem with our offense is there's no movement at all...

You let LBJ run the point at the top, Then what do you have ?? Nothing but spot up shooters standing along the perimeter, and 1 big setting a screen...

LBJ is guilty of it as well.. When the ball is in Delonte's hands, LBJ stands on the wing, doing nothing but messing with his wrist bands while Delonte tries to play a two man game with a big...

Even if we would have traded for Jason Kidd, the offense would be the same... Until the coach AND THE KING decides they're going to evolve the offense into an offense that is predicated on ball and player movement, the offense will continue to be ran as it is... Whether it's LBJ playing the point or off the ball... The players do the same exact thing...

The only time the ball moves for some reason is when Devin and or Damon actually drive the ball...

If we would have gotten Kidd he would have penetrated alot causing disruptions to the defense. Delonte does this as well but not like Kidd.

Since when were you on the Kidd bandwagon?

I understand he can do it, but he doesn't... He did it the 1st two or three games, but has not really pushed the tempo at all since... Even Austin Carr is barking about it during the telecasts..Wondering why Delonte isn't pushing the ball, and/or is aggressive in the offensive game plan..

It has to be coaching IMO...

Boggles my mind...

I was never on the Kidd bandwagon. But not because of his pg play. My issue had to do with his shooting but even moreso because of how much he was going to cost.

I would have to agree with L&H here.. We have no offensive scheme. The only offense we have is give the ball to LeBron and let him do everything.

Because he's a small forward.

You could ask the same question for every other star in the league, and get the same answer.
