Knowing that our best bet for a trade is with a Western team and given the playoff race in the West whichever team that doesnt get in may be due in for a major overhaul. Both teams fighting for the last spot,Denver and Golden State, have salary cap problems and if they miss out have questions regarding their roster next season. So since we dont have to overextend ourselves to the East and either team will want some sort of turnaround for next season we should pay close attention.
GS- They have to resign Monta Ellis and Biedrins. Nellie has said that he is coming back but he changes his mind all the time and can walk away at any moment. Last year's issues he decided to come back because he said they would make the playoffs this year. If he goes, then there is definately no certainty Baron stays since he's in his last year. If he stays then Stephen Jackson and Al Harrington will be up for grabs with the salary issues after resigning AB and Monta, free agents Azuibuki,Barnes, and Pietrus. They liked Varrajao before last season and wanted to pair him up with AB but for Baron we have to give 1st rd picks,SJAX or AL would warrant expirings.
Den- So Denver is one of those teams in salary cap hell for years to come. They seem not to be able to just outscore every opponet so the Allen Iverson experience may be a failure and are said not to want to keep him past next season. With that they have Melo, Camby, Nene, Kenyon, signed to long deals and then AI. Karl may have overstayed his welcome also. They dont play defense and JR Smith and Kleiza need deals. And they still have no PG,I dont care about Carter or Atkins. For AI, a 1st will need to be included but value is tough since they need cap relief without big deals. Camby was on the market but his age, Nene has health issues, Kenyon seems almost back to rare form and we could possibly ship Ben back and get their 1st for the switch but his deal is long. Melo is untouchable.
Por- I know they are no longer in the playoff race but I will say it again, they may give us a pick(s) and/or players to take Darius Miles for an expiring. If they are willing to give that 10-15 pick for our second or even a future 1st I may have to take that. Plus they have two early 2nds(30 to 35) out of 3picks in the 3rd rd.
We should just look to see how it plays out. But we need to look at all options but see what steals we can make and get most bang for our buck.
Good idea?

We could possibly even try a 3 way with Denver and Seattle for Watson or Ridnour to Denver due to the fact they tried last year and in the process improve our draft with the amount of picks Seattle has in the next 3 drafts they are not going to keep all of them.([2] 1st rders in next 3 drafts, not counting 2nd rders)
Just throwing thoughts out there.

I'd love to pick acquire Azuibuke, however that'd be possible. But he's also not going to push us to that next level at all.
I feel like there's plenty of possibilities out there for Ferry. Redd, Vince, RJ, JO, move up in the draft/acquire more picks, whatever it is. He just better make something happen. And something very significant. He can't complain about lack of trade chips either...plenty of expirings, a guy like Andy or Sasha to throw in, and possible draft picks (hopefully not this year's though).
Get it done or leave, Ferry.

I agree that we have plenty of options however I don't think we have to tinker with this team to much. I would approach a team like Denver who needs salary cap relief and offer Wally 14mill exp along with Sasha for J.R. Smith. and then Draft our Big man of the future. Thats only two moves but that would give LBJ his needed runnig mate along with getting Z his replacement for down the road. Futhermore you still have all of your
pieces parts to add what ever else you need

Secondly, we could sign JR Smith outright IIRC. Even if we needed to make a trade for him, we would only have to trade Sasha for him. If we added Wally, the Nuggets would have to match salaries.

Thanks for the clarification LBJ4MVP. I think we should seriously entertain that idea. I notice sum are calling for us to aquire Redd or others but personally I think J.R Smith would complement LBJ the most.
I also think he has grown as a player and hopefully as a person. If I'm not mistaken he is a year younger than LBJ. I just think he has plenty of upside & with Lebrons help he could become robin to BATMANNNNNNN
