Last year you would not find one Wizards fan saying we would beat the Cavs. I could not believe we won the games we did. Come on, your reaching for something that is not there. We were missing 2 All Stars. Hello.......... O-Yeawe had Arvis Hayes, the guy who lost his J.

Mod do I get the red pen for calling Jarvis Hayes, Arvis?

The 1st year our team let us down, 2nd year the Cavs in 4 was prediction, 3rd year Wiz in 5. We are healthy, we are ready to rule.
But the expectations for your team is to get to the 2nd round, and at the most get to the ECF...

There's only one thing left for a LBJ led Cavaliers team to do, and that's win a championship... We've been to every step with the exception of winning it all..

Like LJ4MVP (the optimistic mod) said, the standards for each franchise is different based on the level of success recently... Cavs is a championship... Wizards is to advance in the playoffs..

No you definately arent wrong. There were plenty of Wizards fans who honestly thought they would win and had long written out explanations for it. Just another case of a Wiz fan trying to revize history to make himself feel better.

Right, it's the same way that I've seen Wiz fans saying that they'd have made it to the finals if they'd have been healthy enough to get past the Cavs.

And who's to say that the Wiz would not have
made it to the Finals last year? Granted,in
retrospect I think it was unlikely but that's
why they play the games.

I think we are both in agreement that the
Cavs were better overall than the Wiz
last season.

I think the difference between us is
that you think that the Cavs were
head and shoulders above the Wiz
last season.

I don't happen to believe that but
bottom line:we were swept while
you went on to the Finals.

See, I've never said the Cavs were head and shoulders above any team. Fact is last year much like this year the Cavs could lose to any team. However last year they were absolutely lethal in the 4th quarter. Tough D, few mistakes and timely shooting, that is what is missing this year.

It's not that many believe we were head and shoulders above the Wizards.. The Wizards are a fine team, and always going to be a tough out in any series..And they have more overall talent than the Cavs..

However, it's the fact that we were a top 5 defensive team last year, and the Wizards were 3rd in points allowed, and I believe 4th in opponents FG%...Meaning they were one of the top 5 worst defensive teams in the league...

Being one of the worst defensive teams in the league doesn't normally translate into long term playoff success, and in roughly all cases, never compete for a championship nor taken seriously by many..

Hey keynote, sorry I missed your reply earlier, but it wasnt an anectdote. it was real. I wont go back and dig it out, go ask pine I'm sure he remembers it. If you want to dispute it, go back on your board and look it up. the last two years playoff game threads will have it.

By the way you only have one series each year so it shouldnt be too hard to find.
