My point is that the Spurs have NO good match ups for him. He absolutely abused whatever they threw at him last night. There is going to be a time when Duncan, being the BEST defender in the league, is going to have to accept the challenge.

Well, maybe Kurt Thomas or Fabricio Oberto will be the better option to man up against West out in the perimeter. Duncan is most effective near the paint and it probably would not be the best idea to exclude him in there when being one of the best post defenders today.

I understand your point and it makes a lot of sense. I just keep thinking back to when LBJ took Iverson out of a game in the fourth quarter, not because he was a particularly good match-up but because he is our best player. Duncan is the Spurs best guy and IMO it is HIS job to match-up with West.

But I get your point. Either way the Spurs have to do a MUCH better job with the backside zone and force West to give the ball up.

Thanks for understanding. :)
Today, the Spurs did a much better job defending West but New Orleans walks out with the blowout victory behind Chris Paul's 30 points and 12 assists.. 102-84. Wow, maybe I should change my pick on who will actually win this series.
