One trade...

Post#1 » by eyejayem » Wed May 21, 2008 10:12 pm

Make one trade(offseason) that you would like to see done(realistic), Possibly your MLE, and your draft choice if you still have one. Then show your starting lineup at the beginning of the season.

1st. Trade:
Mike Miller
Darko Milicic
#28 pick

for

Eric Snow
Joe Smith
Aleksander Pavolovic
Cash
#19

2nd. Pick:#28 Kyle Weaver PG/SG

3rd. MLE Mikeal Pietrus

4th. Resign: D.Gibson/D.West/possibly D. Brown

Starting lineup:

PG Delonte West/ Daniel Gibson/Damon Jones
SG Mike Miller/ Kyle Weaver/ Devin Brown
SF Lebron James/ Mikael Pietrus/ Wally Szerbiak
PF Ben Wallace/ Anderson Varajao
C Zydrunas Ilgauskas/ Darko Milicic

Pros: We get the SG we needed as a second scorer. We get younger in the frontcourt w/ Darko(23). We still get a pick even though late with best college backcourt defender in Weaver who can handle the ball(PG) and can take the burden when in the backcourt with Boobie . Pietrus can play the 3 and 2 and get most minutes til Weaver starts stepping up. We still have expirings(Wally and Damon) to upgrade post later. We get younger without killing our future.

Cons: Move back in the draft. Still dont have the post threat. Darko played good in Orlando next to post players but hasnt quite live up in Memphis but has NBA experience and can possibly learn from Z to be our C of the future but again this is just a hope. We lose Joe Smith who behind Z has been most consistant and dependable. We wont know what Pavs would have done not being injured or holding out.

So I'm hoping people can set up their own scenarios in addition to commenting on others. I said in addition to guys.

We can't trade Andy or Sasha til later in the season, correct? Or is that just Andy?

Gotcha. I've heard conflicting stories, wasn't sure what was true. Thanks.

I'm for trading for Mike Miller but I don't think that's enough to get us to a ship. We need a PF who can finish and put the ball in the hole..

Andy could be traded but he has to approve it. Sasha is fair game.

Cons: Memphis is not trading Mike Miller and Darko to move up 8 picks in the draft and for other garbage offered.

Cons: Petrius will cost the full MLE and cannot help Lebron shoulder the scoring load.

I think that Memphis will trade Darko eventually because if they had faith in him he would have started Center instead of Hakim Warrick who is a PF/SF. They will do whatever they can to rid themselves of Darko,Mike Miller, and Brian Cardinal and get picks or other assets because those three are not part of their future. Those are their three big contracts and they will eventually go.

They could get alot more than what you offered for Mike Miller and Darko but I think you guys could get them in a deal.

Mike Miller and Darko for Varejo, 19th pick and future 2nd is about right.

Cleveland Trade Breakdown

Incoming Players
Michael Redd
Bobby Simmons
Maurice Williams
Dan Gadzuric
Charlie Villanueva

Outgoing Players
Wally Szczerbiak
Eric Snow
Anderson Varejao
Joe Smith
Aleksandar Pavlovic
Damon Jones
2008 First
2009 Second

Don't know if either team does this, but could really help the Cavs

Cavs Lineup
Mo Williams/Gibson
Redd/West
Lebron/Simmons
Wallace/Villanueva
Z/Gadzuric

Cavs get more scoring from the backcourt and it improves the second unit. Cavs do add salary and lose the picks. Thoughts?

I like both ideas, though IDK the financial end of either one. I have thought darko could be Z's eventual replacement for a while now, though I think many disagree. But if all we have is to move down nine spots and get Miller, that would be a ok with me.

The second trade would make us really hard to defend with a combination of both units or just the starting unit. But I doubt M Brown could pull it off. I think his head would explode trying to get some of those (Redd) guys to play his style of defense.

That's actually possible....the Cavs are still adding a legit scorer and potential all-star for junk and a 1st.

Eh, I think Milwaukee will vomit all over that. They can get a much better deal than that.
