I mean he plays on the clippers. This season was not a good example of this man's potential. He does get injured but that reflects how hard he plays. Plus he is not like Larry Hughes with his injuries missing months and months. I just think with his size, scoring ability and athleticism he would be a great fit for us.

I just think we can live with the PG by committee of Delonte and Boobie. I really think what we need is a big 2 guard in the 6'6''- 6'9'' range. In game 7 we had no one besides lebron that we could really throw at pierce in terms of weight (sasha has the height). Magette could have really helped with bodying him and giving him a different look and also allowing lebron to relax on d a little bit.

We were one scorer away from winning that game. Also if Michael Redd is available definitly would be willing to deal or pick in some sort of package to get him. Our original number one choise before we signed larry pubes

The question is not so much who would the Cavs like to acquire, as much as it is who would the Cavs like to give up to get an All-Star quality starter in return?

Most teams won't give up an All-Star or a near All-Star without getting something comparable in return.

Most teams won't give up a solid starter without getting a starter in return.

Yes, there are exceptions, when a team needs multiple draft picks or a team wants to dump salary - but those are the exception, not the rule.

In the case of Redd or Brand, those are solid starts with All-Star appearances. Plus they are marquee players that their franchises have relied on to boost ticket sales. Neither team could give up their marquee player for a bunch of spare parts.

The Bucks have other guys they can market and build around such as Bogut or Yi....

The Clips, eh Brand could walk for nothing soon considering he can opt out after next season. I agree he is probably alot less likely though..

We are in a league where money talks. What happen to guys opting out signing a 1 year deal with the team they like and then Resigning with the team for major bucks? Damn, what happen to guys forcing their teams to trade them to the team of their choice or they would walk and get nothing in return? Damn where is the love?

So that means we have to trade him for Wally Z?

If you take both of our bad contracts and also give us some pieces of true value I'd think about a Redd trade, but that offer would still never equal a high draft pick or a young player with all-star potential.

The value of expiring contracts is that we can then afford to use our MLE. Nothing more, nothing less. More has to be added, because remember - we have to think that the trade improves our team in order to do it.

A Brand trade seems even less feasible to me. I could see the Clippers wanting to win now with Brand/Kaman/Maggette, and trading their draft pick for another veteran. If they want to go in the other direction and blow things up, then they will certainly demand a young stud or a top 5ish pick. Why would they want to trade their best player without getting a future best player in return? Would you guys be interested in trading Lebron for expirers and no elite picks if it becomes clear that he won't re-sign?

We might take one bad contract but there is no way that we'd take 2. To be honest I really dont see what people see in Redd to begin with.

As much as Bucks fans may think Cavs fans are crazy for offering expirings, Andy or Sasha, taking back a bad contract, and perhaps a future pick at best....Bucks fans have to realize that many "all-star" level players who don't fit at all with their teams anymore do not usually get "all-star" level players back. Especially guys from 26-win teams (yes, I know Bucks management thinks the Bucks can "win now" or whatever, but perhaps they'll quickly learn that's not the case once the season begins?) Near 20 million in cap relief and a solid rotation guy in Varejao or Pavlovic could very possibly be enough. Not for sure, but I honestly wouldn't be shocked either way. Something like Wally, Andy or Sasha for Redd, Gadzuric or Simmons.....some variation of that could be possible. Perhaps an '09 or '10 1st, or '09 2nd as well. The main thing holding back a trade is the Bucks being in the same division. That's why I see Memphis being Cleveland's best bet, for now. But with Cleveland having some of the most coveted expirings this next season, you better believe Cleveland will at the least, be hearing many offers. So it's not like the Bucks will be the only team hearing offers (for Redd and/or Mo).

Near 20 million in cap relief
The value of this is nowhere near 20 million dollars. We're going to re-spend the money of course, so it's only a question of whether the new player or players will be more productive than the departing ones. Some Cavs fan on our board was trying to sell a similar deal as a savings of $60 million dollars, as if we wouldn't sign any players to fill that void.

Max/all-star signings almost never happen, so creating a huge amount of cap space really just means that you can sign a couple MLE type guys. There's some value in it, but not what's usually advertised.

He has a point. What makes his case even stronger is that no top flight FA is going to want to go to Milwaukee either.

Wally, Sasha, Gibson & 2 2009 2nd round picks plus cash for Redd and Simmons.

I believe that would get the trade done. Sasha is an excellent scorer, and defender and will fir Skiles system. Gibson is a possible future all-star, and one of the top shooters in the league. Wally is an expiring, who will provide an excellent piece from the bench. the two second-round picks, in-addition to Milwaukee's own picks will give them 4 new youngsters to build around, along with Mo, Bogut & Yi. They get rid of Simmons, who has been a MAJOR disappointment. They lose Redd's scoring, but should be able to make-up for it with Sasha & Gibson. They also get good defenders, and save a lot of money by getting rid of Redd, who will DEFINITELY be unhappy with Scott Skiles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cleveland gives-up a lot to get their shooting guard, but it is a risk they need to take to try to help ensure that LeBron stays in Cleveland.
The Cavaliers will have to rebuild their bench, but they will keep their draft pick and take the best Center available in the draft.

If the above happens, then I'd expect a second move by the Cavaliers that would center around Damon Jones & Anderson Varejao. Snow may be added to the deal also, with a future 1st rounder for someone like Jermaine Oneal. Another possibility is Williams or Josh Smith from Atlanta.

Personally, I'd rather see the Cavs focus on Baron Davis in a sign&trade, or possibly Corey if Davis can't be done.

I know a lot of people like Redd, But He is FAR from my first choice!!!! He gets his points by taking a quantity of shots...not quality! Yes, he can create... but he has lost a lot of the quickness he used to have when he came to the league from Ohio State. Also, I'm not sure if he'd be an ideal fit with LeBron.

However, I'd be willing to give it a try if neither of my first two options were available.
