McGrady

Post#1 » by witnessmoboobie » Mon Dec 8, 2008 2:57 pm

Rumor on hoopshype today. Snow and Wally World for Tracy. I can't see why the Rockets would do this as they are getting nothing in return and breaking up their "big three" (insert sarcasm here). I don't really like this for us either. I would rather take Vince who is more durable and might be a better fit for our squad. I doubt this rumor is true but I thought it was worth posting.

Hows Tmacs contract?

He would be great for us though. Do you think he could live with coming off the bench? I think that might be the best spot for him on our team, because he would have more freedom to takeover when lebrons on the bench. Plus hes not the best outside shooter, and I like west in that role starting.

He would add a playmaker, defender, and scorer to our team. We would be stacked, and Lebron could carry Tmac past the first round to the title.

It was just an idea the writer came up with because he said they would probably like to move McGrady. That package won't get us McGrady............

I believe his contract expires in 2010. He was a great basketball player but recently he's been injured too often to be consistent. I don't know how much he has left. It'd be great to have the T-mac of the past, but I could see us picking him up and having him be a Gilbert Arenas- injured all the time.

Ya thats my beef with him too. I just don't see him staying injury free come playoff time. Although it would be great to have TMac coming off the bench when Bron is getting rest.

I know the Rockets are disappointed that TMac is hurt again and are not happy with his rehab. Even so I can't see them trading him for expirings considering they are still one of the top teams in the West.

Yea, I don't know if I would do it. He hasn't been that much of a productive player IMO since he played in Orlando. I think I would rather have Carter or Redd, than the alway's injured McGrady.

Now here's the thing. T-Mac is 29. He is injury-prone, but still in the back stages of his prime. He has shown the ability to play defense. West would come off the bench, no question about it. However, T-Mac would only play 28-34 minutes per game, taking all of those left by the departed Wally and ensuring Sasha doesn't enter a ball game. Also, he is 6-8. Going small with Varejao, LeBron, T-Mac, West, Mo would be tantalizing. Here's the deal: He is still a great player on a perfect 2 year contract. For Wally and Snow, heck yes. Even if we need to throw in a pick. I realize this won't happen, but if given this opportunity, we are not going to say no just because he's injury prone as his minutes would be decreased here. Plus, scooping in and getting T-Mac would keep other teams from trading for his contract and getting in on the LBJ sweepstakes.

Well, if T-Mac wasn't so plagued with injuries and if he wasn't so up and down in games, then I would be interested. There is no doubt that he is a very good player but he is apparently very bad luck. At this point, I don't see anything happening between the Cavs and the Rockets. We should save our expirings for someone else and maybe T-Mac can finally get out of the first round. Who knows?

Pull the trigger TODAY!!!!!!!!!!

You only need T-Mac for the Playoffs and he is Highly Motivated to whatever it takes to win a Championship.

His contract expires in two years
