Cavs Defense

Post#1 » by PPAW4Life » Tue Dec 23, 2008 12:11 am

What do you guys think is the biggest reason for your team's great defense this year?

I am some what baffled as to how the Cavs are not getting get torched playing 2 small guards and 2 "old" and slow bigs every game!

I have seen a few Cav games and have come away very impressed with everything. The help defense is solid...guys are making timely shots and making the extra passes. LeBron is playing on a different level than any other player right now.

I do think the Cavs and Celtics are very similar and the defense is the key....both teams get stops and then are sparked to score and they keep doing it as it has a snow ball effect and an onslaught ensues. I can tell you I'm not looking forward to seeing the Cavs in the playoffs....they are pretty scary right now (but it would be a highly entertaining and competitive series).

they've always had the great defense, but this year they got the offense to go with it...the cavs have the killer instinct to turn that great defense into fast break points and if they smell blood in the water (i.e. putting a double digit margin on a team), they attack

Wallace is not slow, he may not be able to bring it for 40 mins a game but at 30 he's just fine. Z is still 7'3" and the Cavs contest everything. Strangely enough though anytime the Cavs have someone going off on them, LeBron guards that player and they cool down. Sasha is also good when we have a taller guard that we need someone to stick with.
