Terrence Stansbury of the Indiana Pacers, circa 1985. He did it at the dunk contest and he also did it the first time he got a start at home. It wasn't as elaborate but it was basically the same thing. And Lebron wasn't more than 1 year old.

I found it strange that Holmes did it but I liked it. He's a Pittsburgh Steeler from Florida.

Holmes went to OSU, right around the time LeBron was blossoming.

In fact loved the flick so much he named his youngest after the character. Maximus

Oh yea what's up all new to the boards!

Nice post, but I didn't think that he tossed the dirt in the air like LeBron does the chalk. Otherwise, I think you might have something. I'd never put the 2 together.

LeBron disgusted by Holmes’ Super Bowl fine

MILWAUKEE (AP)—The man who inspired Santonio Holmes’ Super Bowl touchdown celebration was downright disgusted by the NFL’s decision to fine the Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver for his LeBron-like display.

Told before Friday night’s game at Milwaukee that Holmes was fined $10,000 by the NFL, Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James called the league’s decision “disgusting.”

“Did he?” James asked. “That’s disgusting.”

Asked if he thought such celebrations make the game more fun for the fans, James said “absolutely.”

“Fun for the fans—fun for me,” James said. “I was watching. Us Ohio State Buckeyes, we’re alums, man. We’ve got to stick together.”
Dwight Howard on his FT struggles:

"I just think everybody needs to stop talking about it," Howard said. "There's more to life than free throws."

For those comments, Roger Goodell has suspended LeBron James for the 2010 season, once he signs with the Browns.
