Joe Smith agrees to terms with Cavs

CLEVELAND -- Joe Smith is about to become a Cavalier, again.

The Cavs and the veteran 6-foot-10 forward agreed to terms on a one-year contract Tuesday night. He is expected to sign the deal once he clears waivers Wednesday morning and should be able to join the team by Friday's game at Boston.

"After careful consideration of his options, Joe has decided that the Cavs are the best fit," Smith's agent, Dan Fegan, said.

Smith was contacted by several teams after getting a buyout from the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday. He averaged 6.1 points and 4.5 rebounds in 39 games with the Thunder this season. He played 27 games plus the playoffs with the Cavs last season.

Gotta love trading Damon Jones for Mo Williams

Obviously I would rather have Gooden on this team long term but this is the next best thing. I like Joe Smith as a player as a person and I'm excited to see him back in a Cavaliers uniform.

^^The Cavs don't want Head because we already have enough shooting and penetration.

And this is like the best day ever.

A special world for you and me
A special bond one cannot see
It wraps us up in its cocoon
And holds us fiercely in its womb.

Its fingers spread like fine spun gold
Gently nestling us to the fold
Like silken thread it holds us fast
Bonds like this are meant to last.

And though at times a thread may break
A new one forms in its wake
To bind us closer and keep us strong
In a special world, where we belong.

If as this helps prevent Marbury getting a ring I'm happy - as long as you don't beat the Lakrs in the Finals.

I think this helps our chances to beat LA if Ben comes back, but Cleveland would still be underdogs because one good and four solid bigs doesn't match up with 3 good bigs, one of whom is very good.

Delonte looks like he has special needs.
"A particular shot or way of moving the ball can be a player's personal signature, but efficiency of performance is what wins the game for the team."
