Curry would be awesome. I think he can be like Barbosa or someone small, quick, and deadly off the bench/

AJ Ogilvy kinda reminds me of a shorter version of Big Z or a poor man's Bogut. He's skilled offensively but he's only an average athlete. Actually Big Z was much more athletic before all his foot surgeries. Ogilvy is also a very good passer out of the post, has a good mid range jumpshot, and nice little money hook shot. With Mullens declaring today, Ogilvy could fall to the Cavs if he declares.

If Ogilvy or Jordan doesn't fall I'm guessing the Cavs could draft a PF/SF type that can guard the perimeter and play spot minutes backing up LeBron or play SF in a small lineup. I see that draft express has Damion James slotted to the Cavs. DJ needs to work on his perimeter shooting but he could help the Cavs out defensively as a role player off the bench.

Like mentioned already Sam Young or Terrence Williams types could be available. Sam Young will never be a great ballhandler for a SF but he does alot of other things well but he is already 23. Terrence Williams needs to work on his outside shot although it's improved tremendously the last part of the season. Williams is really improving his stock in the tournament too so will probably be long gone unless they get another pick.

If the Cavs are picking #30 maybe they should just take the best player regardless of position especially in a weak draft. It's pretty much a crapshoot at the end of the 1st round even in a good draft.

What do guys on here think of Patrick Mills? I know PG isn't the biggest need right now but going on the notion that we draft the player with the most talent he needs to be considered.
Hes shown that he can play with NBA players after he single handedly nearly beat Team USA.
Alot of mock drafts have him going late first/early second round and i personally think whoever does draft him is getting a steal.
We all remember him abusing DWill, Kidd and especially CP3 off the dribble, remarkably he was too quick for Paul to handle.

I definitely remember Patrick Mills light up Team USA in the Olympics. He is one of the quickest guards out there and even got the better of Stephen Curry in their NIT game. The only thing is that the Cavs don't need another PG, especially with talks about getting Kidd now (don't know how much truth there is to this).

Ferry was said to have been in Rome looking at Brandon Jennings. Is that a sign that Brandon Jennings is falling , we are moving up, or he is really looking at someone else?

Someone will take him on upside alone. The upcoming draft is pretty weak.

PG isn't really a major concern for me with Mo/Delonte/Gibson though - we need to really be focused heavily on bigs IMO.

Boobie is our PG off the bench but West can play the postion better if needs to...

I'm still of the opinion we draft the best available talent and not try and plug holes. In all honesty the odds of us getting a legit big man at pick 30 are astronomical, especially in a weak draft.

I agree with the best available. Sign a center/power forward or trade for one; that is our one desperate need.

Need suggests that the Cavs would try to get a big, strong defensive center. However, good luck getting that with the last pick in the first round. At this point, I think they should be looking at the most NBA ready player available regardless of position. You have to hope to find the next Mario Chalmers or Carl Landry sitting there at 30. When you are competing for titles you just need to add guys who can play. Who will that guy be? Maybe Hansbrough. I don't think he has what it takes to be a star in this league but I do think he can be an instant 15 minutes per game guy.

Is there anyways for the Cavs to move up in the draft to get a good quality big man?

Probably not, unless we buy a pick. But to trade for one I don't see that.

I cam see some teams willing to move down for our two picks. We have the lowest cost for contract in the 1st rd and and we have an early to mid 2nd. Teams trying to save money and seeing this as a bad draft class could think that their late teen to early 20s isnt much especially if they are playing for 2010 and trying to keep capspace.

But personally I think we can buy a pick and rather do that so we can possibly get a steal with the more chances.

Teams that have made no secret about trying to cut costs are:
1. New Orleans-Pick #21, Pick #51
2. Memphis-Pick #28, Pick #34
3. Oklahoma City-Pick #26, Pick #35
4. Phoenix-Pick #14, Pick #44
5. Charlotte-Pick #13, #43

I doubt Memphis or or Oklahoma City would be willing to trade their earlier picks, but the other teams are always looking to cut costs. I would target Phoenix's 1st and 2nd round pick for cash considerations and a future 2nd round pick. I think that would set Cleveland up nice to be able to take draft:

#14: C-BJ Mullens
#30: PF-Taj Gibson or Tyler Hansbrough
#44: PF-Josh Heytvelt or Robert Dozier
#60: PG-Cedric Jackson

These draft picks would accomplish three goals:(1) add depth in the front court, and (2) add big men who can score. I also like the Cedric Jackson as a sleeper pick to become a solid contributor for the Cavs.

Danny Ferry has been scouting Brandon Jennings in Europe according to reports. And all insiders like Windhorst have been saying we're looking to draft a point guard this summer. And of course people have been saying we're looking to move up in the draft.

But to get Jennings we'll need at least the 5th pick, and I got no idea what we'll have to give up for that.

And if we did somehow get Jennings, Id see that as setting up for a trade for a big name player. I just dont see how a PG of Jennings ability and potential fits into our plans when we already have our PG for now and the future in Mo.

Haha, I might be dreaming but I wanna see us send both our picks this year plus Sasha and cash for the 5th pick. Draft Jennings and then trade Jennings, Ben and JJ for Bosh and Kapono.

Maybe the Cavs could get lucky like the Celtics and get a allstar quality center or power forward come to the The Cavs like "via Garnett-like" thru free agency???
