I do find it funny how often Kobe fans point to the head to head games this year as proof Kobe > LBJ but last year when the head to heads favored Lebron (actually the last like 5+ games) that was brushed off.

Agreed. I've been waiting for this since the start of the season.

Portland hater, using any chance he can get to leave a nasty comment about the LAL. Portland has a deep young nice team, they are going to be in the hunt every year. If Portland fan spent as much focus on rooting for their team that they did hating on the LAL there probably would be better off. At least their mental health would be a lot better off.

Kobe is still the best player in the game IMO. If you watched both the CLE V LAL games and watched KB24 effectiveness on LBJ, and watch KB24 finish game after game throughout the season you'd know that.

Lebron is an excellent player and a stat sheet stuffer like no other. He's the best athlete I've ever witnessed, he deserves the MVP especially for carrying the Cavs like he has.

However IMO KB24 is still the best closer in the game, and is the smartest player on the floor every night, he does everything well.

However, as far as the MVP award I've never seen an award given out and the recipient team always has a battle or loses. If CLE is going to lose a game this series I can see it being the game he gets the MVP trophy. In fact I'll call it right now ATL will take that game or at least cover.

Congrats to CLE fan for LBJ's MVP, the LAL are taking home the trophy that requires no popular vote.

Oh yeah, we've seen that once again against the Rockets...

i do think that Kobe is a good closer, but i really think that best closer nonsense is blown way out of proportion. I've seen Kobe miss more big baskets than I've ever seen him make. The only thing is that people don't seem to remember those. LeBron has always been better down the stretch of a big game than kobe and I think LeBron makes more big defensive plays at the ends of games. I'm not saying that LeBron is the best closer, just that he's at least a good of one as Kobe. To argue otherwise is to ignore the stats which have said leBron was better in close games than anyone for several years now (too bad the Cavs didn't have that many close games this year). People also love to bring up the fact that the Lakers beat the Cavs twice this year but they don't seem to take into consideration that the Cavs swept the Lakers during Kobes MVP year and at least one more year before that.

I see this thread went the usual route, I won't get into all that childish mumbo jumbo about Kobe and Bron. Both are hell'va players no doubt about that, Anyway congrats to you guys for being able to watch the MVP every night. He certainly deserved the award, and the Cavs are handling their business with relative ease.

Almost brought a tear to my eye tonight when they gave Bron the award. He even said his teammates and coaches and the fans had every bit as much to do with the award as him. How can you not love that. Most unselfish guy ever.

Congrats Lebron you truly earned this award now go get us the first of many ships.
