Giving Delonte his props

Post#1 » by GoLebron » Sat May 9, 2009 2:47 am

Check it out:
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/170903-settling-on-an-nba-all-underrated-team-starting-with-delonte-west

Excerpt:
Let me put it this way. What if I told you that there's this guy; he's a shooting guard by nature, a little undersized at 6'3 and change, but:

* has the handles and decision-making skills to run the point competently.
* shoots the spot-up three at a clip over percent.
* can break down his defender and either get to the hoop or hit the mid-range jumper with deadly accuracy off the dribble.
* can post up and abuse most pg's and smaller guards (he looked like he was going to abuse Ben Gordon for 40 the game he broke his wrist).
* can lock down against dribble penetration and is strong enough to force taller guards out of their spot in the post.
* on top of all that he's going to be the funniest guy in any locker room.

To quote Bob from entourage, is that something you'd be interested in?

This isnt a flame by any means but if I didnt read the name and just the description, I would have thought you were talking about Courtney Lee, except maybe for the comedy in the locker room part.

Still West has been a very good player and personally, I would take him over Jameer Nelson. I think they were teammates in college.
My 2 cents is worth 5 cents.

I'm not sure he should be a starter, but he'd be a heck of an asset on any team.

So you'd take Courtney Lee over Jameer Nelson?

He's a scrub who was lucky to land with Cleveland...Lebron draws so much attention it's ridiculous...West has a lot of heart though..
