Kuester....

Post#1 » by Snakebites » Tue Jul 7, 2009 6:35 pm

We've just hired this guy as our head coach.

I know nothing about him, so anything you guys can tell me would be greatly appreciated.

He was given a ton of credit for our offensive success this year and was called somewhat of our "offensive coordinator". I suppose his offensive experience will work very well with a team full of offensive weapons like Detroit. Coming from Coach Brown's staff though he will more than likely put defense first and foremost in his gameplans. Im really unaware of his defensive strengths or weaknesses though. He is thought of very highly within the organization, and will surely be missed. The only question I have of him is with his experience. He doesnt seem like the type of guy who can really take control of a team and make them listen to him. He also doesnt have any head coaching experience. Both of those things were traits I thought Detroit was looking for in a new coach. For those reasons its a bit puzzling to me.

Because every other experienced head coach gave Dumars the finger because he didn't want to hand our more than a two year deal.

Wait, he is now the head coach with Detroit?

It looks like we're moving back to LeISO as our main play.

Just a thought. With Kuester leaving, firing Mike Brown makes more sense than ever.

Best case scenario he would accept to be assistant but that wont happen, lol. I always saw Brown as a great assistant that helps on the defensive end.

What's Ironic about this is that Kue was on the Pistons staff before he was on Cleveland's staff!

He's actually regarded as a defensive coach..not an offensive guy, however he was our de-facto offensive coordinator last year. While he made an impact, us adding Mo Williams...along with the stellar play of Delonte really were the main reasons out offense was better, Kuester's not a mastermind, he's no Tex Winter, that's for sure.

He's a smart guy who is long overdue for a HC position. He'll preach defense with the best of them, and all of the people who have played oj teams he's been an assistant for have liked him.

Anyone looks like a offensive master compared to Brown.

Picture this: 4th quarter and you keep running a play where Stuckey is at the top of the key every single time...

We call it LeIso here... Perhaps you guys can give it your own name ?? ISO-STUCK ?

What are our options for offense now with Kuester gone? Do you guys think we go back to Lebron 24/7 or do we continue to move in a different offensive direction with Shaq in there now too? I think it will be interesting to see what the offensive gameplan is now that we have such a different presence and team than we did before Kuester got there and we were watching the lebron show live from the top of the key.

Kuester here or not, we were going to change our offensive to run through Shaq. When you have an inside presence, you go to him and work inside-out.

Kuester was a good coach - for large parts of the season our offense looked better than it ever has using his system. We better hire a capable replacement.

If I were Ferry, I'd fire Brown and go after Avery. Our offense wasn't stellar with Keuster, however he made Mike look inept in the offensive sets department. Now we have to rely on MB to draw up offensive sets again?!

We'll be ranked near the bottom in offense again....

If we are going back to LeBron 24/7, then we can kiss the ring goodbye in 2010. There is no freaking way we're going to win a championship running the LeISO as our main play.

Return to Cleveland Cavaliers
