Kirilenko would be an excellent addition to the Cavs. In fact, we were discussing him over on the Wizards board a few days ago.

The question is what would you be willing to give up to acquire him?

I'd think that Utah is looking to get some cap relief so if the Cavs traded Z and bought him out that might work for them.

Two things Shaq is terrible at. Shaq hasn't played good defense since 2000 and has never been able to defend the pick and roll. Cleveland got worse defensively while the Lakers got better defensively with an added bonus of getting the best Lebron defender in the NBA (see: Ron Artest).

Good luck though. B try getting past Boston and Orlando before dreaming about beating LA in the finals.

too premature to think about LA. Lebron has to pass Orlando AND Boston with KG+Sheed first.
Lebron and Shaq may not even get out of 2nd round.

There is no guarantee either that the Celtics or the Magic make it out of the 2nd round either which makes their finals appearance just as improbable. The Celtics have to hope for the fountain of youth and the Magic will be looking for replacements for their bench to make it through a long season and playoffs...so it's premature to crown them too.

As for Artest, he's as volatile as ever IMO which does not give the Lakers an automatic finals appearance in losing Ariza. The Detroit trade of last season of Billups for Iverson is a prime example of things not working out fit wise which is the same case as the Laker's with Artest IMO.

I am O.K. with the CAVs being patient like they were last August and got Mo Williams.

I'm not sure if we got worse defensively. Howard won't be powering himself in the paint, and getting those easy dunks and layups if he were to play against Shaq.. I'm sure of it.

However, I agree with others on this thread, the roster is good enough to beat LA as it is.
LOL, please no way you guys beat LA with that team, hell I doubt anyone in the league can do it this year. Baring injuries of course.

Instead Dwight will be scoring off feeds from VC off the pick and roll. Shaq can't defend it and thats all NBA teams run anymore.

^ Are you trying to make a comparison of how successful the Laker's were against Boston in the Championships two seasons ago where they were eaten alive by the pick and roll?

The original post was almost laughable.

You can make a case for Walace (even though he's heading for Boston) but why would you give that guy a three year deal.

Then we're going to blow our 2010 cap fro Rip Hamilton? I like hte guy, but his extension was a huge mistake. This would completely bail out Detroit, who already replaced the guy with Gordon, and eliminate any chance we had at adding a second max guy next year.

Based on West absolutely abusing Hamilton in the playoffs I'm not even sure how much the guy has left.

This would make us better right now, but destroys the future and if there is any chance LeBron is leaving this makes it more likely.

Good Luck.

Do not confuse the Cavs fans with those inept Boston fans. Cavs are just trying to compete.

First of all, McGrady is the only player you listed that is washed up. The others are still playing from adequate to above average.

Wait before you bulid a team to beat LA, You have to make the Finals first.
Boston and Detroit >>>Magic and CAVS. First go thru them and you can play with
the champs.
Another thing whats up with Cavs giving Varejao 50mil?

One things for sure the EAST just got better. While you guys have to battle thru 4 teams we have the Spurs to worry about...

peace & good luck!

If KG is healthy BOS is the team CLE needs to worry about. CLE beats BOS they'll be ready for the Lakers. However, if the Lakers sign Odom and injuries don't happen, not much anyone can do about it.
