I think it's a great signing, especially at the $5.5 million for 2 years. This move will improve our depth on the bench, so now we don't only have Gibson and Wally to bring the spark as reserves. There is no doubt in my mind that he will have a better impact than what Devin Brown, Wally, and Sasha has provided for us.

I think getting Barnes would be more then sufficient at this point. I think our versatility and bench play would be an even bigger factor this year.

I think we would sit a top the East with only comp from Boston, Orlando, and Washington(yes , I said Washington). I think the next tier is Miami, Atlanta, and Philly depending on what they do. I think Chicago took a step back by letting Ben go and not getting a post scorer. I can see Toronto,Detroit, and Charlotte fighting for that last spot depending on how the rest of the offseason, and the beginning of the season play out.

Bottom line, he's not a starting caliber 2-guard anymore. But IMO, he will be an excellent bench player.

The bad: he wasn't quick to begin with and foot speed has progressively gotten worse, can't beat his man off the dribble nor can he finish strong in the break, has a hard time staying in front of even moderately quick players.

The good: one of the classiest players in the NBA --- does and says all the right things and has a very low maintenance personality, still a great shooter especially in corner treys, can play PG occasionally, high basketball IQ (you hardly see him throw the ball away or do anything stupid).

I think AP will do well with the Cavs especially playing with a superstar like LBJ, and as long as you limit his minutes he will be productive.

I agree. AP will fit in very well with the Cavs.
During the playoffs, Cavs other than LBJ could not hit the open shot. AP gives you a deadly shooter beyond the arc. Maybe he's not Kapono'esque, but at around 40% beyond the arc, he's amongst the league leaders.

But as other posters have said, he's lost a step, and he won't be driving to the hoop. That's okay since that's LBJ's job.

Considering the price, this is a great signing for the Cavs. AP is just the type of bench player they need.

Looks like all set for the Cavs except a legit 4.

Definitely!! I`d almost argue that he`s somewhat those guys combined into one player.

I wanted Parker OFF the Raps, but that had everything to do with his age and the state of the Raps. He can nail the open three and he does play solid defense. It looked average last season, but that was with absolutely no help. With all the attention going to James and Shaq, I can`t think of a better situation for Parker. Probably the best SG on the market all things considered. Wouldn`t be too surprised if we won over the starting spot.
