The most salary relief compared to who?
How is that true? Portland is still like $10 mil under the cap and the Pistons have about $3 mil in room.

ah good call forget about them...they could give bayless and a trade exception
but the pistons dont have anything to offer utah besides prince and dumars already rejected that
i was thinking z's expiring contract and jj hickson in separate deals with the cavs giving utah 3 mil in compensation in each deal...that means they buy out z for 9 mil and only have to use 3 mil of their own money
just a hypothetical...no chance boozer ever plays with cleveland again

Re: BOOZER to CAVS
^^^
Pistons could offer Kwame-Maxiell-Walter Sharpe & shave $3 mil off Utah's cap number, assuming they don't want Boozer at all, (an offer similar to your Cavs offer) but you are right, I don't see him landing with either of us.
I do think Portland would make a bit of sense assuming Utah matches Millsap, they could offer the cap room and bring Boozer in for a year to see how it all shakes out before deciding if they want to resign him. I can't really see Utah trading him in the division though, especially not in a straight salary dump.
I've always thought Miami makes the most sense (something like D. Cook & Blount's expiring) given he's an expiring and wouldn't mess up their plans to have cap room, or to just resign him.

Re: BOOZER to CAVS
If the Cavs can get Boozer for cheap, I`d probably go for it. I understand the love loss, and such a move would mean the GM having to swallow his pride, but if LeBron would approve, you would have to go for it. It could have a similar effect to the Gasol trade for LA which eventually won LA a title and kept Kobe happy.

Even if Cleveland buys out Z they still would have to pay for the luxury tax hit taking his salary would cost them since his salary would still count against the cap. I mean they could have just bought Boozer out if it was that easy. If it was that easy to avoid the tax teams around the NBA over the tax threshold would be buying out their deadweights in droves.
