The Cavs could sign him outright for the BAE, but I am not sure if he would do that. I think Warrick could be a real steal at this point. I love his energy and he semi-consistently will knock down a jump shot.

this starting caliber crap is so much BS. Was Kurt Rambis? AC Green? Udonis Haslem? Robert Horry? There are actually plenty of examples of players that were not "starting caliber" that actually did start on championship teams. These players played their roles which allowed their teams to excell.

i would love to have warrick on this team with him and moon it would give us the nba's favorite new term "length" on the perimeter i know hes a tweener but he could guard 3's and rashard like 4's and is mega athletic.

Agreed. It's not just solely based on talent and starting caliber.. It's about how well the players perform together and what roles they are given and how they excel with that.

I think that comparing our current PFs to AC Green, Udonis Haslem, and Robert Horry is wrong. These guys are way better than the current guys we have. Especially Green and Horry were important cogs in winning NBA championships. Rambis is not a great player, but he was around better talent. Unlike the old time Lakers who had Magic and Kareem, the Cavs don't have a #2 guy. They have a superstar in Lebron James and perhaps a #3 option in Mo Williams. Additionally, the depth is just not the same as the 80's Lakers.

Luc Longley was never an NBA championship center for the Bulls, but that team was full of great players. There was of course Jordan and Pippen, but they also had Dennis Rodman, Ron Harper, Steve Kerr, and Toni Kukoc. The Cavs simply have done a poor job putting quality talent around Lebron James.

Highlight reels are nice but you didn't see Warrick take a jumpshot. He also isn`t much of a defender. Now that`s not to say that with a different team and coach he couldn`t be taught to change his habits. But with Memphis he never developed a well rounded game.

While Memphis let him go because they`re cheap(their owner said it was because they wanted to stay further under the cap), they also had second year player Darrell Arthur and rookie Demarre Carroll(keep an eye on this guy next season, he`s good) looking like they can do as well as Warrick.

So while Warrick can provide pretty good offence and rebounding off the bench he needs to be put in a role that`s just for that, not counted on to be a defender, or a savvy veteran. If the Cavs feel they need the narrow focus of skills Warrick provides then go for it. Him and Moon together would definitely provide a ying yang tandem of length and athleticism, one offence, the other defence.
