Raptor Fan Here

Post#1 » by xxPrimierxx » Wed Sep 2, 2009 8:17 pm

Hey Cleveland.
Just dropping in to see what your mindset is like.
ive been doing some scouting and realized that the Heat fans have our Chris Bosh locked up in their opinion.
Now I know your in the same situation because the Knicks think they have your star LeBron James locked up as well.
Now what is your mindset going into this season?
Do you think LeBron will re-up with you?
Do you think he will leave for New York or some other city with Capspace.

And what about other guys like Chris Bosh, Dwanye Wade and Amare Staudemire.
Where do you they will end up?

Just want to see what the concensus is on these guys.

I myself see Amare Staudemire and Paul Pierce/Joe Johnson in New York in 2010.
I see Chris Bosh Re-Signing.
I see Dwanye Wade Re-Signing with the Heat ONLY after they bring in another guy with their capspace from Jermaine O'Neal. (Probably Carlos Boozer and Shaq at a much lower contract)
I see the King Re-Signing with Cleveland after you guys sign some star wings (or close to).
Guys like Mike Miller and maybe Ray Allen or Joe Johnson/Paul Pierce.

Let me hear your thoughts Cleveland.

I think a majority of the free agents next year will resign with their respective teams, and that includes LeBron.

I think its pretty much understood to everyone outside of New York that there is a 90 percent chance Lebron stays in Cleveland.

1) We can offer more money.
2) Most transcendent stars stay on one team their whole career. Lebron knows this.
3) We already are a championship-caliber team with players specifically built around Lebron.
4) Lebron is extremely close with all the Cavs.
5) The salary cap is going way down.

I think Bosh is in a different situation though... so I dont know if he'll stay or not.

The only player I think will move is Amare.

Seriously.. If Knick fans would just go away, I don't think the topic would really be touched upon here much...

I think most of us really want a championship first and then deal with the LBJ stuff...

I think most of these guys will re-sign with their current teams. Even if someone like Amare leaves it will likely be a trade. None of these guys will leave money on the table and if it appears someone like Amare could leave I could see Phoenix trade him at the deadline.

LeBron is very close to Cavs Owner Dan Gilbert and apparently thrilled about the new Chinese investors. I would be surprised if LeBron leaves. My guess is he signs a short term contract extension with the Cavs next summer and we will go thru the same thing in 3 years. At least it will keep Ferry and Gilbert on their toes to keep the best team around LeBron.

Most will resign. I think that Amare will leave if hes not traded first.

Amare and Bosh are the most likely to leave IMO.

Don't see Bosh going, but the record will be the main cog.

Amare for sure, but maybe he realizes that another year with Nash will make his numbers look great.

I think Amare and Steve + Grant Hill could be fun to watch next season.

There were high expectations before last season in Toronto too...just like now. But last season we didn't have Toronto fans trying to start a game thread (on the CAVs forum) two months before the first game based on some Raptor fans enthusiasm to say it nicely.

If this season doesn't meet Bosh's expectations about the playoffs (somewhat like last season)---he most likely will consider changing locations after this season.

I'm a knick fan but personally I think LeBron stays in clevland. Bosh and Amare are the two who I think will leave, but Amare will sign with the Knicks and Bosh with Miami . I also expect the Knicks to get sign someone else, i'm just not so sure who that person is as of now .

The chances of LeBron, Kobe, or Wade leaving their respective team....is slim and none.

Chris Bosh "could" leave if the Raptors really suck and BC doesn't do anything to rectify the situation before the deadline. That being said, I doubt that Bosh leaves Toronto. The Raptors are clearly his team, and he is the biggest star in Toronto; if he leaves for another team, he wont have that type jock-riding elsewhere. Toronto fans like Bosh more than another city will, so unless the Raps really screw up, I expect Chris to stay put.

Amare is the one player that I think will switch teams, regardless of what his team does this season. I'd expect him to goto New York or New Jersey. He'll get his ego rubbed properly in one of those towns, and that is what he really wants. He sees the attention that LeBron, Wade, Kobe, Bosh and Carmelo get, and he feels that he is in that same class of elite player, and he wants treated like it...he wont be getting any more than what he gets now if he stays in Phoenix, so I expect him to leave for the so-called B-ball Mecca, and play for the Nets or Knicks next year.

Of the other 2nd tier players.... they'll go to whoever pays the most and/or can offer them the most publicity (IE: Championship contenders)

It can't happen. The Knicks only have enough money for one star player, and that's if they renounce half their team.

And there's no way in hell Paul Pierce is going to be a free agent next year, he's not going to turn down a $21 million option at age 33. Nobody else can/will offer him that kind of money.

Especially since he has a lot of mileage on him for being 32 years old (11 years in the league over 30,000 minutes played)

Honestly, as a Knicks fan, I can tell you that there aren't many of us over the age of 12 who believe there's any chance Lebron leaves CLE, let alone comes to the Knicks. I think if he's truly that open to leaving, there are situations that would be more attractive than ours.
