Re: Trade Idea - Z for Z?
Z-bo is and always will be a no go...you can throw number and statistics at me, situations and scenarios that look like win-wins and it will always be a no. He is a loser, both as a person and a player. He is a definition of a problem and I know Danny Ferry will always say no too, so I can rest easy.

Re: Trade Idea - Z for Z?
I don't think anyone is saying that ZBo cannot play, or that his talent on the court wouldn't invariably improve the team; rather, fans are leary of Zach's past. He has problems everywhere he goes...including in Los Angeles! Just because it wasn't front-page news, didn't make it any less true.
Cavalier fans dont want to see someone like Zack come to the team and disrupt a good team...that sort of disruption could possibly lead to more disturbing things...Like certain players not wanting to play here anymore.
Just a theory, but it's enough to make fans not want him....besides, he's from New York, and that alone makes him undesirable.

Re: Trade Idea - Z for Z?
My 1st choice has become Troy Murphy because we can likely do a straight up Z with a pick and cash. Murphy can stretch the defense when in there with Shaq and I dont think his defense would be bad but the fact that him Shaq and Lebron will be cleaning up boards with Delonte and Mo who are good rebounders for guards, I like it. Murphy can also play a lil center so when we play him and AV together or last min spread play with Shooters and Lebron he fits maybe even better then Z.
2nd choice has to be Andrei Kirilenko and that is because of what he is capable of doing. Him and Lebron at the forwards would be incredible for what both can do on Defense, handling the ball, assists, and variety of ways to score. Kirilenko the last time he played PF for the season(I believe 2005 or 2006) he avg 8 rebounds a game. We would finally have a shotblocker and he can also stretch the floor but isnt as big an offensive threat as Troy. Very streaky and I would like this deal more if we can do it for Z and Boobie but I am hesitant because I would like to see what Boobie can do with Shaq in the post.
3rd and last choice is obviously Zach Randolf. And it is not as much a thing of what Zach can do but what we can get with Zach for the long term so if he doesnt work out the trade isnt a total wash. So Z and Boobie for Zach and Darrell Arthur/Sam Young/Haddidi(s/p?)/Marc Gasol(far fetched)/ Mike Conley/ Right to swap 1sts or something. I think it depends on if we can get one or two of the above involved in the deal that would make us consider it. Thats just my take. We have to be rewarded for the risk.

I would not be opposed to Troy Murphy. He is the type of PF who would fit well next to Lebron, good shooter, finisher, rebounder. I think if you put him on this team next to LBJ & Shaq with guards who can shoot, we would pretty much be unstoppable offensively.
Indy only does it if they are clearly out of the playoffs though, and even then Bird may not want to salary dump.

We had murphy here in GSW for a long time, due was a total stat whore and care more about stats and his game than the team.

Re: Trade Idea - Z for Z?
Think for a second. Memphis has Gasol, Thabeet, Haddadi, and Hunter, all seven feet and more. They also had a $9mil expiring contract in Quentin Richardson but liked Randolph so much they took on his two year, $17mil per contract in exchange when they could have had pretty much any of the solid group of free agent power forwards this summer at far less than Randolph.
Why does anyone think Memphis would actually seriously even look at a trade with Ilgauskas?
