No mention of course about the rules changes that no longer allow the clear out. For those of you who aren't old enough to remember, that was when the Bulls could legally put 4 players on one side of the floor, and put Jordan on the other and just let him beat his man all game. There was no zone defenses allowde, or one foot in the paint and the other out.
You had to commit completely to double or there was an immediate whistle for illegal defense. Kobe, Lebron and several others would pile up much more stats across the board if the rules were the same. and dont forget while you are all forgetting Oscar Robertson in your goat discussion that the game is much more controlled now, with each possession being micro-managed than when the big O played. I really enjoy the best ever conversations where EVERY player mentioned has played in the last 15-20 years as if the game never existed before then, and even if so, there was never a dominant player before.
As for the best player I have ever seen, it is Jordan. I hated him then, but as a Cavs fan that was a necessity. I think Lebron may approach or even surpass him, but I wouldnt bet on it.

i would go with LeBron stictly because his game is crazy anyone who can put up nearly 30 8 and 8 a night and carry a team to the finals by himself basically is crazy. if LeBron ever gets a LEGIT all-star second option then its over.

As a Bulls fan, I'm Biased towards MJ with my pick. I got a confession to make too you Cleavland fans though. If I've ever seen one player who can threaten MJ legacy as the goat. Its not Kobe, I'm not worried about him at all. I am however worried about what your Lebron might accomplish.

I hate to admit this to you guys, but I'm nervous that your Lebron is going to keep my favorite team from having a chance to sniff the finals for next decade.
Don't take life to seriously and find your potential. Most importantly, have as much fun as you can while you're still here.

Magic Johnson is my GOAT but thats besides the point. I'd rather have a guy like Scottie Pippen than MJ. But I'd gladly let MJ take the ball in the dying moments of the games.

Lebron is the closest if he puts his mind on it, to reach MJ's legacy etc because Lebron isn't one dimensional and does things that Scottie can do (all around bball player).

Jordan, Kobe, Lebron in that order.

Kobe right now is around the 10th best all time. By the time his career is over, he'll be top 5. Lebron has the potential to be better.

wow..you guys are overrating Kobe by a lot. Forget about the accolades and don't listen to the media members. Just watch the game. Keep a mental note of every single one of Kobe's offensive possessions and don't just remember one good play. Top 10 player of all time? lol
