2K or LIVE? CLE fan I don't think you have a choice

Post#1 » by DubaLakers » Tue Sep 22, 2009 7:10 am

I'm a Laker fan, Kobe fan, NBA LIVE fan, I will probably get LIVE this year, but CLE fan I don't think you have a choice.

I just played the demo, in the shoot around you can choose between all the big stars, so I tried the MVP, holy crap they got LBJ down like no other player I've ever seen in my many years of playing sports games. His movements, animations, shot releases, they just nailed him.

You say no? 2K, LIVE flame war? OK, go ahead be the zombie 2K fanboy and get NBA 2K9.5 as many are calling it, but damn LIVE has your boy down tighter than ever.

BTW check out this brand new, as of today, 2K first look gameplay footage, they got old man Shaq looking as dominant as D12 :nonono: ...

As far as reality, CLE loaded up, see you in The NBA Finals.

Live has supposedly turned a new leaf, I haven't written them off this year like I have in the past few.

dude its the offseason and its basketball realated and he was talking about the cavs. relax or dont comment.

this year i plan on renting both 2k and live before i make my choice. i havnt given live a shot since 07 when they had tmac on the cover and i hated 07 to much. 2k9 was good i loved it and i also felt they did a good job on lbj. they even had him biting his fingernails on the sidelines like he does.

I'll admit the live demo does look good...and the gameplay is better...

I will wait and see what 2k10 looks like but live at least looks improved from the arcadey crap they have turned out the past few years

Live is such a good game, that's why every single review magazine and website rates it lower than 2k.

Those blind 2k fanboys, can't even tell that Live is the superior game.

live 10 demo on PSN is a huge letdown. the players are literally shiny.

The Live demo was horrible. Its just a contant fast break without nearly as much control as 2k delivers. But then again, I'm biased because I still play NFL2k5, despite owning madden10 and being in the top 80 on xbox live. I just enjoy superior gameplay to graphics
Thank you for all the memories BRoy. You were a class act and brought hope to an entire region for 5 years. You will be missed.

I used to play a lot of Live, but I've switched to the 2k series in 2006 and haven't been disappointed since. As far as gameplay, appearance, and control is concerned, Live doesn't hold a candle to 2k.

Have to respecfully disagree here, you didn't play on superstar did you? If you played the default difficulty level it's made for casual run and gun up it then see what live really has to offer. As far as control goes live has the most ever given with the ball in hand imho. The thing that made live a must have was playing with the stars in the hanger. Every player has a authentic feel when moving around the court due to speed, agiltiy, and momentum. This is like the Gran Turismo of NBA games don't sleep on it, and like the TC stated for Cavs fans there is no choice Lebron is Lebron to a T.

I hate Live, it's just too graphics-related and not good at actual basketball. At least that was the case with 04-07, which is the last one I played. Drone defense is just asinine. I'm giving 2K a shot this year.
It's not whether you win or lose, it's how good you look playing the game
