King James!

Post#1 » by BobCatsFoLife » Wed Oct 7, 2009 5:29 pm

I don't know if I am looking to deep into this so I decided to ask the die hard Cleveland fans. Do you all think that Lebron had anything to do with Braylon Edwards getting booted out of Cleveland? Does he have that kind of Power? If so, he is definitely more of a "King" than I thought!!

No. He had nothing to do with it.

But just so we are clear, LBJ could go R Kelly on Frank Jackson (Cleveland Mayor) with no problems

Edwards has always been high maintenance since they drafted him and this incident is no surprise. He's very talented, but isn't good for team chemistry. Edwards has always had excuses and I am sure he will spin a new story in New York that he bears no responsibility for the incident.

What a contribution you made to this thread SevereTrolling (aka. SevereMagic)!

NFL PROBING BRAYLON EDWARDS PUNCH: Now former Cleveland Browns receiver allegedly assaults friend of rival LeBron James.

*The NFL has launched an investigation into whether (former) Cleveland Browns wide receiver Braylon Edwards violated the league's conduct policy for allegedly punching the friend of his sports rival LeBron James outside a nightclub early Monday.

"Braylon comes up and started saying things, degrading me," Givens said. "He said if it wasn't for LeBron [James] or the Four Horsemen [James' friends and business partners], I wouldn't have what I have, nor would I be able to get girls. Everyone knows Braylon has a problem with LeBron.

"I had to speak up for myself. The conversation started to escalate. As some of his teammates started to pull him back, he punched me. As long as I've known Braylon, I've allowed him and his friends to come into our events free of charge. Whatever jealousy he has with LeBron, he felt he needed to take it out on me."

In the end, Braylon Edwards just wasn't worth the headaches: Analysis

Then, he ran around practice that summer with his shoes off and had his foot gashed by Donte Stallworth, missing the entire preseason. When he returned, he dropped three passes in the opener -- the start of his 2008 dropfest. Two days later, he said of LeBron James, "LeBron isn't a Cleveland guy. LeBron only plays for the Cavaliers, and who knows if he even likes the Cavaliers?"

During the Texans game on Nov. 23, he approached safety Will Demps between plays about how to get into modeling and acting, according to Demps in ESPN The Magazine.

When the season was over, Edwards was out partying with Donte Stallworth -- spending $3,443 on champagne, vodka and other drinks at a posh Miami bar -- on the night Stallworth drove drunk and killed Mario Reyes.

Aside from the WIZ fans most of the Cavs haters are either Magic or Laker fans. Considering those two are the teams that beat us, I'm having a hard time understanding this hate. I mean we get it you guys are feeling extremely insecure but man, are you that afraid?

I'm a Wizards fan and I'll admit the source of the hate for me is losing to Cleveland.

I think James is easily the best player in the NBA. I don't think he's just a little better than Kobe, either. Now, I could come up with a list of things I don't like about Lebron from a Wizard fan perspective, but that would be me trolling here, and not why I'm visiting. (For the record I have a Shaq list and a Gilbert Arenas list, too. Maybe I'm a hater or something ... I dunno).

Reason for my visit is it shocked the heck out of me how fast Edwards got traded. I didn't know any of the other stuff about him that I just read in the posts above. I figured he'd worn out his welcome and it had more to do than James getting him traded.

I did agree with Lebron, btw, that what Edwards allegedly did must have been based on jealousy. Also, can't see for the life of me how an NFL guy could punch a little dude like that. I can't. That's all I've got on Edwards.

IMO Lebron's sorta right on the rivalry thing. Wizards haven't beat them and it technically isn't close to a rivalry. It's no rivalry, but the hate is there when those teams play. It is for the Wiz, any way. As a Wizard fan, I'm real curious about Arenas, the team under Flip. Guardedly optimistic, but at times a bit fatalistic. They'll be better, but that's not necessarily saying a whole lot.

I'm similarly curious about Shaq and the Cavs. A lot of new wrinkles and variations. One thing I'm certain of is both our teams will have a different chemistry. For the Cavs, with added talent but new faces comes change. Z and Shaq? Spacing and defense? I'm really sorry to hear about Delonte's struggles (he's from where I grew up and I've gone through the same sort of thing. I just pray that he gets sufficient clarity and support system ASAP--basketball's not even the priority right now for him). Cleveland's got the talent, and IMO the coaching and the organization, to take it all. Yet, you've got to work some new guys and I find it hard to believe you can change so much and win more than 66 games.

But that said, can easily see the Cavs take it all and cut the nets down in June.

We'll see.

LMAO!!!

I knew about the other off the field issues that Braylon was having before this particular one. That is why I was shocked to see him get traded so quickly for this one. Especially considering that all the facts haven't came out yet. We still only know one side of the story. I just wonder would he still be in Cleveland if it wasn't one of Lebron's friends?

I dont think so. It looks to me like Mangini was in a no win (no pun intended) situation, and just got the loser out of here. He wasnt contributing on the field, and with his issues off the field he had to go. The team stinks with or without him anyways.
