Leon Powe ahead of schedule

Post#1 » by Da_James_Gang » Tue Sep 29, 2009 5:03 am

Ahead of schedule

Forward Leon Powe appeared at media day and offered some good news — his rehabilitation is ahead of schedule, a relief to him.

''I'm just happy I got the first five months out of the way,'' he said. ''I told [my doctor] I want to be back around the All-Star break. He said I would be back a little bit before, but we didn't put a definite date on it. We're just taking it month by month.''

Great to hear, would be good to have him for the whole 2nd half of the season to get him comfortable on the floor with his new team.

Its weird seeing him in a Cavs uni...

Essentially Hickson has half a season to prove he deserves minutes, otherwise Powe is going to be the first PF off the bench. I am hoping that battling Powe and Jackson for minutes really lights a fire under JJ's ass.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

Man Powe used to eat us alive...it is def weird seeing him in a Cavs uniform.

Can you imagine if he comes back healthy by the AS break and is in full gear come playoff time? Our bench frontline will be absurd with him and Big Z.

I wont hold my breath on him returning around the AS break, but it sure would be nice.

I could care less if he is back by all star break but if he is good enough a month before the playoffs and make a significent impact that he is added to the playoff roster. Then we are talking.

Man I wish Leon the best, he's as good of a guy and hard worker as there is in the league, and oh yeah, he's got some skills to back it up. Hope he recovers well, still wish he was a Celtic but at least now you guys will see what it's like to have Leon beastin for ya'll instead of us.

Another Celtics fan here. I hope the best for him too. If you guys beat us, I hope West and Powe have a large part in the effort.

My wife still can't get over the Celtics trading West. I haven't had the heart or nerve to tell her we didn't resign Powe.

That's great news. That guy is dangerous when healthy and when given enough opportunities, it's just a shame we don't see that very often.

Another Celtic fan here wishing you guys the best with Powe. That guy is a warrior and I wish we had him on our team.

He's great in the paint and plays his butt off during practice and in games.
