Just like when Kobe couldn't get his squad over the hump against the Suns a few years back? He must of failed big time too.

Yeah he failed because they made 7th seed in the west that was projected to be a lottery team. And took the 2nd best team in the West to 7 games. Lot of failure there.

Contrast that to being projected to winning the NBA championship and having the best record in the league then choking in the ECF against a lower seeded team. Yeah thats succes right there.

Tell me who failed more?

roflmao...the Cavs were projected to win the 'ship? Yeah, they were among favorites after their 66-win regular season but you know what, before the season no one predicted them to even win their own division and they were generally seen as the 4th seed at best. There is a reason LeBron won the MVP in one of the most lopsided votings ever.

And btw, the Lakers were leading 3-1 in that series...You know, they were projected to win the series, lol.

Yay another Kobe vs James thread!

James is a damn beast and Kobe does what he can with his desire to win and skill level . I love to see both but this ain't a rivery really. Kobe has 4 rings and other accomplishments and James hasn't reached yet. Magic had rings and so did Larry so that was a rivery.

Kobe is also 31 and James is a 25. We should compare James with Wade and Carmelo more than anything because Kobe is a vet that doesn't need to prove anything to anyone. Scoring tittle, Season MVP, Finals, Gold metal, All Star MVP, Finals MVP and Champion in a 3 year span. Not to shabby.

I'm cheering for James and think that he is taking to torch from Kobe soon but let's enjoy Kobe for what he is and then consider ourselfs lucky that we get to see James for more years after Kobe is long retired.

Well not really projected winning the championship maybe get in the finals. Before the season started they were projected in the ECF. And the Cavs were projected to win against Orlando before the series started.

I must admit leading by 3-1 the Lakers were projected to win in the west 1st round. They were also projected to lose in 5 games

No, they weren't projected to get to the Finals. Boston, Detroit and Orlando were generally seen as better teams and some had them even lower than Philadelphia and Toronto before the season. Yes, before the series with Magic, they were picked to win but those people probably had no idea what a nightmare matchup it was and how they played each other in the regular season. It all came down to losing the HCA by one point in the first game that was by the way Cavs 5th game in like 25 days. And you know, LeBron played kinda solid in that series.
