No thanks. I do not want a 30 yr old chucker who is going to make 17 mill this season and 18 the next. He takes to many shots and would not fit.

And not to mention he is off the court with injuries all the damn time. Not what the Cavs need AT ALL

The Redd ship sailed for the CAVs a while ago. Last possible stop was Ben Wallace's expiring contract.

Redd's obscene remaining contract is another problem given they have Anthony Parker as a spot up shooter for a lot less. Given Redd's declining durability and lack of meshing with Mo Williams this makes the possibility of Redd in Cleveland oh so much more remote.

Yes, the CAVs still have 'Z's expiring contract---but I don't think they will use it to acquire an over priced shooting guard who is decent at defense at the very best.

Michael Redd is the more injury prone SG version of Zach Randolph (blackhole on offense, blackhole on defense, doesn't do diddly to help your team win but will put up stats that look nice).

The Cavs would be better off just signing Iverson to a 1 year vet minimum contract (if they're looking for a 2nd offensive option and/or a fading former all-star) than trading for Redd's $17 million this year and (much more importantly and potentially nasty) $18.3 million next year (does anyone really believe he'll opt out? lol).

If he gets a buyout like some insiders have been saying he might, then I'd look at him.

He's owed over $35 million for this season and next (Redd has a player option for next year that will cost him $18.3 million for 1 season if he opts out). This for a defensively challenged black hole that is coming off injury and who has never helped his team win anything.

The Bucks would have to really want to get rid of him (even Marbury wasn't that villified by the big pocketed Knicks) to do this OR Redd would have to be insane to agree to a huge discount in a buyout.

I dont think Mike Redd is a good fit right now, no, but you obviously never watched the guy. I've had the luxury of growing up near him and his family and my cousin played with him at West High. If I could make any NBA move that didnt involve the Cavs, it would be to send Mike Redd to a contender where he can start and show how lights out he would be in the playoffs. All hes ever been about is being the best person and player he can be and help his team win. He's a winner and quiet leader who's had the patience and loyalty to stick with that horrible Milwaukee team all these years and never demand a trade. His defense was once his strength but that mindset was totally ruined by the way that organization is run. I'm glad everyone got to see what he could do with playmakers around him at the olympics, and to hear how humble and grateful he was just to be a part of that team shows you what kind of player he is.

To call him a black hole and to compare him to Zach **** Randolph is the dumbest thing I've ever heard, literally. And I mean that, I've heard people try and add 2 and 2 together and come up with 18, and that still dont hold a candle to that statement's stupidity. Ever.

On the buyout rumors, it would take a strong desire from Redd to win a championship for him to lose that kind of money and become a free agent. Even if that happened, I guess the Cavs might make a play for him but he still wouldnt fit here anymore with his defensive issues and the condition of his knees. If he can get healthy I'm sure a playoff team could use the best shooter in the world.

Whoever said Michael Redd is a blackhole and compared him to Zach Randolph, Gentleman you should be literally disgusted with yourself and you should never be allowed to watch a basketball game again.

So he doesn't fit the Cavs, who lack a consistent offense threat beyond Lebron, but would be great for another contender where he can "show how lights out he would be in the playoffs"? Are the Cavs not planning to be in the playoffs? Or are they content that Mo Williams can somehow be what he wasn't last playoffs? Why wouldn't the Cavs need someone like that but another playoff team would?

Because his nasty salary isn't so nasty? That's right. His salary is ghastly and no team in their right mind would want him (which is why he's still with the Bucks...who also don't want him).

All hes ever been about is being the best person and player he can be and help his team win.

And how much has his team won? There are plenty of "nice people" in the NBA and that doesn't mean diddly. Michael Jordan was not a nice guy and that obivously hurt him right? "Being the best he can be"? What is he going to the Marines? Maybe he's looking to reform the health industry? Whats he going to do?

He's a winner and quiet leader who's had the patience and loyalty to stick with that horrible Milwaukee team all these years and never demand a trade.

Dude...he helped make them horrible. If he was really that much of a leader, that loyal, that much of a winner, why'd it take a rookie PG to finally snap this team out of the dregs? Because Redd didn't want to show his teammates up? Because he felt losing built character? Absolutely made up and random rubbish.

Regarding not demanding a trade?

He makes more than most 3rd world countries. Nobody would want him. Honeslty, if someone were interested he'd be gone already from the Bucks cause he has no use for them.

His defense was once his strength but that mindset was totally ruined by the way that organization is run. I'm glad everyone got to see what he could do with playmakers around him at the olympics, and to hear how humble and grateful he was just to be a part of that team shows you what kind of player he is.

Ahh...so we're going to blame the Bucks for his defense? What kind of an absolute silly, silly statement is this? So let me guess this straight? The Bucks didn't want Redd to play defense because they'd rather suck and lose then have him actually play defense and help his team win? Is that right?

It was Skiles fault right? Skiles, a notorious stickler for his players to play the right way AND play defense, decided to have Redd, his BEST PLAYER, not play defense cause it would be against his coaching philosophy? Do you even think before typing this random nonsense?

And what does having great players around him at the Olympics have to do with anything?

He could be a gentleman and a scholar and that and 2 cents will get him 2 cents in the NBA...which was about what the Bucks were worth before Jennings came along and show'd how a player can actually lift his team and make them winners. But regardless of that what does that have to do with anything in this discussion?

To call him a black hole and to compare him to Zach **** Randolph is the dumbest thing I've ever heard, literally. And I mean that, I've heard people try and add 2 and 2 together and come up with 18, and that still dont hold a candle to that statement's stupidity. Ever.

I would strongly recommend you re-read your entire post if you want a better idea of what stupidity is. Better yet, go take a gander in the mirror. Do this before you insult other people.

In other worlds, he wasn't born yesterday and is smart enough to realize that NO ONE is going to give him a max contract if he opts out and that throwing away $18.5 million is assinine (kinda like your entire thread).

And the Cavs might make a play what? He's not stupid (you said it yourself, although my guess is that you may not be the best judge of stupidity unless you spend a lot of time looking at yourself in the mirror).

Whoever said Michael Redd is a blackhole and compared him to Zach Randolph, Gentleman you should be literally disgusted with yourself and you should never be allowed to watch a basketball game again.

The main reason I dont want Michael Redd, is because we will be technically saying to Mo Williams, "We brought you in here to be Lebrons right hand man but do you mind passing this guy the ball who you couldnt get along with before. Do you mind passing this guy the ball before you think about shooting so he can be our 2nd leading scorer?"

Not doing it.

So you don't want to hurt Mo's feelings? :-? I'm sorry, Mo is not good enough to be the 2nd best player on a championship team.
