Big Z

Post#1 » by Cleveland Fan » Sat Dec 5, 2009 4:00 am

What is Z's value to the Cavs? He is always the 1st one to LeBron when trouble starts. He's not the player he once was. LeBron seems to really care about Z. Would the Cavs trade him at the deadline? If so the team they trade him to MUST agree to cut him lose. Or will the Cavs just hold on to him? Is it possible Z plays beyond this year? I say Z is a true Cav. Ask him 1st before a trade, let him know you want him here when we win a championship.

I think Z will be moved.

Ideally you bring him back after an agreed buyout but...if you don't deal Z, how else do you improve the frontcourt that Lebron is resigning onto?

Think about it if you just let Z's $11MM or whatever it is expire like we did Wally's, next year we will have two near retirement big men in Z/Shaq with no cap room to sign a major FA? (Z might actually retire) That is not going to be real enticing to Lebron.

To build a core that can GROW with James we need to move Z.
