Time to bring-in Murphy...or somebody

The Cavaliers need to quit screwing around with JJ Hickson, who is a bust, and get somebody that can actually bring something to the team! I am not a big Murphy fan, but the guy can shoot, and he rebounds. He doesn't play defense, but neither does Hickson. If the Cavaliers expect to make it past the 2nd round of the playoffs, then they had best make a move...sooner, rather than later!

Jamison doesn't appear to be available right this second, and I don't think it is a good idea for the Cavaliers to wait too long (dadline) because other teams will know more about their club and what they want, and we may miss out if we wait too long. So, Jamison isn't an option right now, but David West is, and so is Troy Murphy. The Cavs may also make a 2nd trade; dealing Hickson to GS with Wally's S&T for Randolph & Maggs.

Say we traded for Murphy...sending Z & Cash, and also agreeing to send them a 2nd round pick next year if they buy him out. Then we trade Moon,Hickson & Wally & conditional 2012 1st to GS for Maggette & Randolph. Condition of 1st round pick in 2012: If Randolph is either starting for us or averaging more than 30 minutes a game, they get #1 pick. If he isn't starting, and playing less than 30 minutes a game, then they get a 2nd round pick.

We take on Magg's contract, but he can drive & score, and he can play defense. He is a good stop-gap player until Green or someone else can take the minutes and produce. Murphy gives us another offensive big man, who can also hit from long range. He doesn't play defense well, but neither does Hickson, so that isn't a big deal. Murphy can also play Center, as he is only 1/4 inch short of 7'0 w/o his shoes, and is a tad over 7 feet with them. Randolph will be able to be worked-into the line-up, and will play clean-up minutes with Powe when he heals-up.

I think these are our best plays for the trade-season. However, whatever happens, it better get done sometime soon! The Cavaliers are just a little better than average right now, despite their record.

They just got schooled in Dallas, with Dirk sitting out. Jason Kidd hit 3-pointers, and even 68 year old Tim Thomas scored 20 points on us.

SOMETHING NEEDS DONE, or we are screwed!
