Not going to happen.. You don't even have any inside source to back it up that we are interested in trading for Brand.

Oh BTW, do you ever plan on working for the New York Post?

In shoes? They add as much as 2" for shoes. ;)

Funny thing is, if the Sixers are willing to push Brand to the side to pave the way for Speights why would we want him getting in the way of Hickson?

It's not like we have all our eggs in one basket with Powe on the roster.

1. I think the Cavs would be interested in Brand for cheap, and if they had something else in the works.

Example: Cavaliers S&T Wally for Brand & a 2nd round pick in 2010, or perhaps a future #1. Then, if they could, they may try and make a play for a SG/SF who can create his own shot, IE: Martin. They could then trade Hickson, plus Philly pick, plus cavs 2010 #1 to SAC for Martin. (This is just an example).

Do I think the Cavs would trade for Brand straight-up? NO!!!! There would have to be sweeteners, and then it would only happen if other targeted players were unavailable.

BUT, I do believe that he is an option they will consider, even if he is at (or near) the bottom of the list.

I base this only on the fact that the Cavaliers tried to trade for Brand last winter, and tried to S&T for him before he ended-up signing with Philly. (Supposedly (no proof of this) the reason he signed with Philly was that he was so pissed at L.A. because he'd wanted to come to Cleveland....but that was just something I read on a forum, so that may or may not be true. I do know that he didn't leave the Clips over money, as they were gonna pay him the same thing.)

We really need to know what LeBron is going to do. There's no reason the Cavs should get themselves strapped with terrible contracts if he's going to end up walking.

No, it is ABSOLUTELY imperative that the Cavaliers get a PF who can post-up and score. EVERY YEAR except this one they have always had two guys who could play PF, and bring something to the table. This year they have Varejao, and some Hick from the YMCA who thinks h can play basketball.

Elton Brand would be 5 million times better than Hick-wannabe!!!

Hell, 'd rather have Drew Gooden than Hickson!!! Dude just makes me sick!!!! I've seen 3rd graders play better.

If we do not get "at-least" a PF, then we will not make it past the 2nd round of the playoffs, and probably wont make it past the first round, as we play like $hit against inferior teams.

We already have a backup plan in place in case Hickson can't make enough progress. It's called Leon Powe and playing Anderson more minutes.

Ferry may entertain taking on a terrible contract like Brand's, but he's going to do it on his terms. You might recall that one reason the Stephen Jackson trade fell through was because we were asking for Golden State's 2010 first round pick.

It wont happen unless something else big is included.

What are the chances they move Iguodala along with Brand at the deadline for cap relief, picks and a couple nice young players?

It would be unexpected, but right Philly are the 2nd worst team in the NBA and I'm not sure on their financial situation exactly, but they just signed AI for one reason; to sell tickets, so it cant be great at all.

Iggy is obviously a second option, not a first. He has said himself that he would love to play with LeBron or Kobe and be their sidekick as he he doesnt see himself as a first option.

If Philly realize they wont get anywhere with him as the first option, and their record is still atrocious in February, is it still crazy to think they wouldnt trade him and Brand and go for the lottery this year?

Maybe it is a little crazy, but remember Iguodala will turn 26 in a month, hes not really going to improve much more, and hes never averaged even 20ppg in a season.

He'd be the perfect second option for the Cavs. Great character, would know his role, elite perimeter defender, great slasher, great finisher, fantastic passer and at least an average shooter.

This is what I'm hoping for with the Cavs in February. Something like Z, Hickson, Moon, Boobie and picks for Iggy and Brand.

Iguodala is not an average NBA shooter, he just isn't
