Anyone regret not getting Zach Randolph?

Post#1 » by Baseline Runner » Mon Dec 21, 2009 3:05 pm

He was there for the taking yet we made no effort to get him. Now he is contributing greatly to Memphis' recent success playing out of his mind on both ends of the court. Last game he put up 32 pts and 24 reb. In the game that Memphis won against us he dominated Varejao and Hickson. Just seems to be a really good player for someone who is labeled as a cancer.

No regrets.

Did you want Drew Gooden back after the Mavs game?

Putting up big numbers on a bad team does not make him worth having!!

You could have easily had him when he was with the Knicks, but your "no Knicks" policy wouldn't allow it, LOL.

Don't regret it at all.. I'm glad that we didn't get him. He is nothing but a boxscore guy.

Memphis is not that bad of a team though.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

Quick question, but do the Cavs have any flexibility this summer to lure someone like Bosh to pair with LeBron?

No right?

Compare Memphis's record from last season to this season at this point and I'm sure we could all agree that they're at the very least a much better team.

I dont think anyone here said that Zbo sucked or anything, it was his baggage, and the fact that he plays for himself and himself only. Not the coach or the team just himself. That just doesnt fit on a contending team with other strong personalities. Ask this question, is his presence hurting guys like Mayo or Gasol? What about Conley? I am somewhat bummed that Ai isnt still there, that was a huge blow up waiting to happen between him and Zbo. Now we dont get to see it happen.

The only regret you cavs fans should have is letting Mike Brown coach this team.

Well, we dont have any say in that so we are stuck with Mr. Thorazine for now.

Like hes a really bad coach. Hes just hiding behind Lebron and his coach of the year award.

He fails to mask mo williams' below average D and Shaqs slow footedness.

Maybe you should just blame Danny for getting Shaq.

That is 2 attempts to derail this thread. get back on topic or start another.

I was in a Zach to Cleveland thread a year ago when he was in NY as I thought I'd make a lot of sense but got run off the board. Anyone saying he is only a stat guy on a bad team and doesn't care about anything else I suggest you watch a few Memphis games---he rarely forces shots, he gets insane amount of rebounds and Memphis is on pace for a very decent season in the tough west.
Knicks were 6-3 to start the season with Zach. He brought some life to the lowly Clippers last season before getting injured and he has the Grizzlies playing decent ball. All coincidence?

Cleveland would be much much better with Zach, anyone denying that at this point is just desperately trying to "be right" instead of facing reality. You guys have one reliable weapon in the playoffs and that is Lebron.

It'll be fun to see what type of player you guys are gonna go for come trading deadline but the names I recently heard (Murphy?) are nowhere near Zach's level of play.

Randolph putting up big numbers isn't anything new. It will be something new if he proves to be someone that is willing to sacrifice his game for the sake of his team winning a championship.

Zach has never been on a good team. He was the main player on a rebuilding Blazers a few years ago. Then he was in New York then now he's in Memphis. This is the most talent he's had with Memphis and they're playing .500 ball.

It's not his fault that he is in bad teams. This guy doesn't get any credit after his Blazers years, but coincidence or not, in NY, LA and now Memphis, these teams improved with his presence.

The reason the Griz are having a better season would be due to the play of Rudy and Mayo, not Zach. Would he help the CAVS? Yes but how much is the question? Would he defer to Lebron, Mo, or even Shaq? Then his huge numbers would not be as big being a 3rd or 4th option. Think Drew Gooden with more post moves! No defense!!! Still want Zach with his HUGE contract!!
