chill cavs fans.

Post#1 » by wallsfamily » Mon Dec 28, 2009 2:59 pm

Guys I think the LA game and the rockets game shows all of our team strengths. For instance the versatility of going big or small will hurt teams and allow us to play to our strengths. Shaq proved he was worth the money by taking Bynum out of his game. In addition the bench is gaining confidence early in the season and will be ready for the grind of the playoffs. Tuesday will be a huge game and I will be there. Lebron is more efficient this year. Courtney Lee gained confidence by playing a lot of minutes early on and it payed off in the playoffs. JJ will pay off for us as well as moon as the year goes on. We will need him to chase Rashard in the playoffs against Orlando and to guard Josh Smith in Atlanta. We will need Moon to guard Pierce against Boston and Varejoe to play big minutes against KG. Its on to the championship.

I think we could trade 'chill' and a 1st to Los Angeles for 'Calm Down' and 'Relax'..

I'll check the Heath Machine and see what I can come up with...

I think really the final test is any game against Boston. If we can win in the same fashion the we beat Orlando and LA then we should hold the #1 spot solely. We played them the 1st game of the season and it was close the majority of the way but we lost and it was our 1st game with Shaq. But we finally got situated and played Orlando and went up in the 3rd and 4th as we did against Lakers. But when we go against the Celtics we have to see what we can do. They are good defensively as we are. If Shaq can get their bigs into foul trouble it will be great because they have about as many bigs as the Lakers and Magic and neither team could get the best of the Shaq matchup.

Perkins, Wallace, Shelden Williams, and at times Garnett; Dwight, Bass, Gortat, and at times Rashard Lewis; Bynum, Gasol, Odom, Powell. But as far as team defense Boston plays the best of those three but I think this new team the cavs are putting out definately will put it to the test.

Boston beat Orlando as it looks like Orlando has a ceiling besides the fact that they beat them without Pierce. Dwight isn't playing as well as he played last year, even though Rashard is playing better; You cant tell if having Nelson is a good thing or a bad thing with his injuries, his prescence changes that team and you never know.

The Lakers have shown that when Gasol is neutralized they are the same ol Lakers; getting Artest has shown that he is a year older and Lebron is a year closer to his prime. I was really worried at first but with Lebron's shooting improved he doesnt have to bump bodies every play so he isnt as worn out at the end of a game. Shaq was supposed to clog the middle but what we failed to realize was that whoever was guarding Shaq couldn't step up no matter how clogged the paint seemed because Lebron lobs or bounce passes or crosses the entire lane, if that defender is willing to follow Lebron, Shaq is now all alone weak side and the hockey pass is made if Lebron can not make the direct pass. Oh, besides the fact that we have the #1 and #2 3 pt shooting player on our team so if someone else collapses they are now thinking man I think I should let Lebron dunk it for two then assist it and give up 3.

So how do we play Boston... it seems that our last resort option is the Lebron post at the free throw line like last year but I dont think we will ever have to get to that ever again. Shaq did good against Perkins in the first half last game but now I think he will come more prepared, more included, knowing where he stands. He will frustrate Perkins and even if he doesnt he will definately frustrate Sheed. Ray Allen must have nightmares about Delonte and now knowing that he has to face Parker first and he has to make sure to also stay on him at the 3 pt line. Rondo is where we are killed but I think we seriously will see a lot of Lebron on Rondo because Moon will be guarding Pierce whenever he is in the game. And I see Lebron on Garnett a lot also. Whatever advantage Garnett thinks he has on Lebron look at what he has to do on defense and if they switch and put him on Moon so Pierce could guard Lebron, look at how well Moon has been shooting especially the at 3. A lot of mismatches but I guess this is why our team has been built to be so versatile.

If we make a deal I hope it is for the likes of Gerald Wallace, Troy Murphy, or Chris Bosh(lol) and hopefully still getting Z back because he is looking good right now coming off the bench.

I brought that up before we even traded for Shaq. What was surprising has been how long it's taken the team to re-work the offense so we can exploit the situation. There was a last minute play earlier in the season against the Bulls, I imagine we'll re-visit one of these days where as LeBron beat his man and drove to the rim, Noah came off Shaq and swallowed up LeBron and the ball. If LeBron had reacted just a bit sooner and lobbed the ball up in the air, Shaq would have jammed it home for the game winner.

What seems hard to understand is that if they did connect on that, it probably would have been a first in LeBron's career. That's just not he sort of play we'd run in the past, but if LeBron learns to run it, it will give us all sorts of new options not just with Shaq, but with anyone on the team who can cut to the hoop. It just requires LeBron to process the play differently, and not always look to the weak side corner 3 when the D converges on him.

guys the reason I said chill out is that we have too many trade propositions and too many people on the site that give up too quick on moves we have made. I was at the Atlanta game last night and the Cavs looked great. Delonte coming off the bench is just incredible and Varajoe and Z were fresh at the end of the game and got every rebound down the stretch. Boston is the measuring stick and we have too use our depth especially on the wing to take this. Win in 2010!!!!!

Championship would be very boring if their was no concerns during the season, it is best that fans don't expect victories and then those victories are funner!

If I am not mistaken, the Cav's had the best record in the league last year.
And in the end, what good did that record do for them?
My point is, there will be 4 top teams going to the EC.
Who plays the best there will be the winner. Right now it is just about getting there.
So I would think that after last year you would know to wait till the finals untill you
proclaim yourselves NBA champs.

if any cavs fan is already planning the parade, then they need to be kicked in the balls/ovaries. the regular season means nothing come playoff time. every game leading up to the playoffs is all about building chemistry and experimenting with lineups/matchup advantages that may see the light of day in april and may

right now, we're just enjoying the ride and having fun seeing how the real basketball doesn't start for another 4 months
