JJ doesn't suck but this isn't the right team for him. We are in win now mode, and Brown doesn't have the patience or interest in developing young players.

He is also an offensive minded player. He would do better on a team like GS or PHX where he could get up and down the floor and just worry about scoring. I think he will end up being solid, but it isn't going to happen under Mike Brown.

Ferry should look to deal him while his value is still pretty decent.

JJ is exactly what we need. A young athletic player with a knack for offense that we can mold on the defensive side. Whether he'll work out in the long run is a different issue, but he's getting plenty of chances with this team - and far more than he deserves given we have Darnell and Jawad rotting on the bench with little opportunity.

^Dude, I'm not a fan of either team, but Darrell Arthur from Memphis is better than Hill. Hickson will be good, but not for another couple years.

IF LBJ came out with I LOVE NY shoes next season when he's a Cavalier, it would bomb in NY.. If he was going to NY, there would be no need for I LOVE NY shoes as he would be killing it with any shoe...In fact, the I LOVE NY shoes would be best sellers in NY if he was a Knick..

Why cant Hill be good in a couple of years,you just proved it possible with JJ?

And how do you know Arthur is better then Hill if you never saw Hill play?

He's only started around 20 games....and yes, he is young. He's showed great signs of athleticism. As the season progresses he'll get better. The only real problem is that he turns the ball over almost every touch and needs to catch the pass before thinking about what he'll do with it. He had a nice moment last night where he got himself a layup going to the basket as the shot clock expired. Too young and promising to give up on. It seems as though LeBron likes him.

He gets 7ppg on 5.3fga, he shoots a high percentage, and though he is starting, he plays less than 20mpg. His activity level has been good, and his rebounding seems to be improving. Are people expecting 15/8 out of him right now?

JJ could very well deliver 15/8 right now if he was given enough minutes, and enough touches, but the Cavs aren't a lottery team. JJ has to keep improving in all areas before he's going to get the minutes he'd need to put up those numbers.

I think the Cavs would get a lot more out of Darnell Jackson starting than JJ, since D-Block is a better rebounder and more matured physically and mentally. JJ looks totally lost out there on offense and rarely is in the right place to rebound the ball. A guy with that kind of athleticism should be doing a lot more. It is clear that he does not understand what he is doing a lot of the time.

I'm rooting for him to keep on developing, but he might be a little light in the britches (as Austin Carr would say) right now. Those blocks were real nice yesterday and he will always be an electric dunker. He needs another off season to bulk up some before he can bang for rebounds and play in the post, though. I feel very uncomfortable thinking about him playing at all in the playoffs.

JJ was supposed to be doing a lot of things last summer, that just didn't happen because he was recovering. If he dedicates himself, he should hit the weight training hard this summer and attend a big man camp.

I agree, Darnell could probably could do more for the team in the short run, and it's kind of a shame for him that he's not getting the chance. Even Jawad deserves a shot, but there are bigger things at stake, and we've made a commitment and an investment in JJ as either our PF of the future, or as someone who helps us trade for our PF of the future.

I think he's shown some signs of improvement, and realistically that's all we should be looking for. It'd be great if he just broke out this year and was ready to help at a high level by the playoffs, but we shouldn't expect that.

Or you can draft 2 tweener 4/5s with athleticism and no offensive ability in the first round of the draft like the bulls, then let your only experienced scorer leave via F/A in the offseason like the Blows...er.....Bulls. Good luck vying for the 7th seed so the Cavs can sweep you guys.

Heh, yep. You can find athleticism. You can even find guys that can shoot, but what's hard to find are guys who will hustle all the time, go after the loose balls, and do the right thing on defense.

Not that JJ can do those things, but we're trying to develop him in to someone who can and that's the difference, and that's the process.

This is a joke right? to even but Lebron behind KG who can't stay healthy and is at the very least %20 worst than his old self. not to mention Dwight Howard who derserves elbow thrower of the year award. as for melo and wade who are both extremely athletic and amazing the thing that puts Lebron ahead of them is how he's got at least an inch on them and 30-40 pounds on both and is still jsut as fast definintley has better accelartion and vert. than both of them o yeah his solid defense doesnt do much either....as for kobe who can make every play on offense is his defense as great as lebrons...enough said
