Doesn't matter. It's merely based on what I've seen from him and how he's handled certain situations. He just doesn't strike me as the type who would take it well (losing to a joe like DeRozan or Gordon in a contest everyone is booking him to dominate). I don't need rapport with him to be able to make such an observation.

Personally, I don't think Lebron cares at all about the dunk contest. Nothing about him says that he'd care about this outdated vanity exercise IMO.

I don't think he cares much about the competition per se, but I think he is hesitant to join because of obvious reasons. As I said, there is a lot (and maybe an unreasonable amount) of hype that will come out of LeBron officially putting his name down. He has a lot to lose by falling short to someone like DeRozan or Shannown Brown, and little to gain from beating either of them. But that's not a slight against him, it's perfectly understandable. I simply pointed out that given how he's responded to certain situations which I will not name, he doesn't seem to be the type whose ego will take it well or take it in stride. Therefore he would rather avoid it all together. Just my opinion.

As far as being an "outdated vanity exercise" is concerned, yeah maybe, but LeBron too knows that a lot of All-Time greats have made some unforgettable moments there. Moreover (don't take this the wrong way), I don't see LeBron to be the type who shies away from attention or "vanity" either.

lol Lebron never intended to join the dunk contest. Face it, he's chicken. Always was. But he was good at bringing attention to himself by throwing out the idea. Those of you who actually thought that he was seriously considering joining should get off his nuts.
