With the CBA up in the air in 2011, the owners reportedly looking for major concessions, and willing to lock out the players to get their way - I'd say very little chance.

Nobody is going to get paid during a lockout, but signed contracts will need to be honored once they resume play.

My guess:
He will opt in for a final year at Cavs, then go to Brooklyn end of next season, where he will play with a decent core built specifically with him in mind.

How many games have the Nets won again?

About the same number as the Cavs would without LeBron.

Funny how people use this ridiculous argument all the time, that the Cavs are nothing without LeBron, they wouldn't make the playoffs without LeBron, how the Lakers without Kobe would smoke the Cavs without LeBron, blah blah blah.

Here's the thing: None of that crap bothers us in the slightest because, get this...We DO have LeBron! He plays for the CAVS! And the best part about LeBron- he makes his teammates...BETTER!!! Hell of a concept for some people.

I'm not trying to "bother" you. I'm a Cavs fan. I want more than anything for LeBron to stay in Cleveland. I was just trying to point out that the argument about the Nets not winning is not a valid reason for LeBron not to go there.

I think the Nets losing horribly might even motivate Lebron more to go there.

If the Nets end up being the worst team in NBA history, Lebron could go there and in a year turn them into contenders in the EC... That would certainly be a selling point if I was a Nets GM... to point out how great he'd look going from worst to first... Challenge Lebron to prove his greatness. (Of course another FA and top 3 pick would help too).

If there is no trade for a young enough prospect that can remain with lebron for some time in hopes for a championship i see him leaving to the kinicks which would cause wade, bosh, joe, amare deeply inclined to try to play with him. nets would never have a chance and no matter you LAC do they couldn't get him, lakers might be to big of a shadow to step out of(besides they cursed)

I am glad that you are a Cavs fan... But realistically, do you think that starting over by playing for the worst team in the league next season is the place to go? Let's face it, LeBron wants to play for a contender... The Cavs are currently constructed as a team built around him, as they are currently one of the top teams in the league. He is also the face of the franchise and the city of Cleveland.. Not to mention, he is also close to his hometown in Akron. Do you honestly believe that he would leave to go to the Nets? I mean the only reason is because he is close to Jay-Z, but other than that, it is just nonsense.. The whole marketing thing is garbage as well, but let's not go there..

Oh, and aren't the Nets going to move to Brooklyn in 2012? I read somewhere that they are going to move to Newark next season or something.

im obviously a knicks fan and im not here to troll just to see the honest opinions of cavs fans...i couldnt imagine beign a cavs fan right now...i eman we get trolls over at the knicks board and i have to think you guys get just as much with poeple saying **** about lebron leaving and **** like that.....anyways to my point

i am 50-50 right now if lebron leaves cleveland right now....i have days wehre i wake up and im like lebron is coming to new york hes got to many people in his ear telling him go to new york do this do that its too big of an oppurtunity to pass up...then there are days where im like why would he do that to his hometown just leave them high and dry

reason to come to the knicks: obviously the huge city and the huge market...hes got a lot of people telling him that new york is the place to be to become a huge star....the other place is LA and well he isnt goignt o go to LA and play with kobe or play for the clippers in kobes town....i have a player that i met who played in cleveland which im sure you guys know who im talking about who told me that 100% that lebron is coming which obviously i took with a grain of salt because he is a new york player and he just won a championship and is goign to tell his fans what they want to here...then things started coming out in the paper that he was tlaking to lebron everyday and telling him how great it is to win new york and there is nothing like it and that got me thinking....how many players have said there is nothing like winning in new york i mean think about it there is no bigger stage and city to win i mean you become a god in the sports world by winning championships in new york...im not discrediting winning championships in any other town im jsut goign by what people say....i think that will be a big part in lebrons thinking i believe...he wants to be a god in the sport without any question, he wants to market himself and the best way to do that is in nyc....i mean think about messier won championships with gretzky in edmonton but didnt become a household name in hockey until he won in new york....people remmeber messier for his time in new york and not his time in edmonton.....i do believe if lebron doesnt win this year he is going to come to new york because it will be too much for him to pass up....for those who say well he will make more money in clevelend well he will make up that money pretty easily in endorsements and things like that....i know he is already a star obviously and has a alot of endorsements but nike has come out and said we want to make him the face and want him in new york....you got to rememebr even if all the knicks do is sign lebron and bring back lee they will still have a nice young core and have room for another max in 2011 with 18 million more coming off the cap which could be used on melo...knicks will have a lot of spendign money in teh next two years which makes them very dangerous

reasons to stay in cleveland- obviously if you guys win a championship this year he is staying i think thats obvious...i also think though you wont win without making a trade for either amare or jamison....lebron needs to see that you have plans after this year because lets face it your team is old and losing z and shaq will be a big blow next year....its lebrons hometown and i dont know how he feels about it and if he is even willing to leave his town i mean it may be tough for him to leave....admittingly i havnt watched amny cavs games this year obviously by the record you guys are playing well...i knwo you guys signed verajo to a long term deal but what does moe williams contract and wests contract look like? did you sign moon to more than a 1 year deal or is it multi???

people say lebron wants to go to a contender if he leaves and new york isnt one well with lebron this team is a 55 60 win team and you cant dispute that and i ahte when people say the knicks dont have any young talent well yes they do....oh to the guy who said gallinari is only a 3 point shooter have you watched him play??/ he has very good handle and can take it to the rim which makes him very dangerous

a team of lebron chandler gallo hill lee starting line up vs the cavs of lebron moe williams parker hickson and shaq

i dont know if you look at it honestly the knicks are a lot younger and i think ti would be a pretty good game...i dont think the cavs are that much better than the knicks....

^^^ That's cause you're just looking at names and age...

You neglect the fact that you don't have a coach that can win a championship because of the fact that, like Don Nelson, he is a coach that doesn't take defense nearly as serious as offense... Nor the fact that any of those young guys on the Knicks are remotely capable of playing championship caliber defense themselves...

Which is why a team like OKC, who is starting to "get it" with their young pieces are light years ahead of the Knicks...

IMO, LeBron is not playing for that coach, he's not going to buy into that D'Antoni philosophy and will not be a New York Knick... The Knicks are not in a position to offer LeBron team success...

have you watched the knicks at all this season???? they dont run dantonis system that they ran in phoenix....he is not **** don nelson.....this is a guy who won 55 games in phoenix and was an amare suspension from beating the world champion spurs...this is a guy who helped steve nash win 2 mvps

lebron wont play for a coach like mike dantoni and his offensive philosophy are you **** kidding me??? thats why they won a gold medal with mike dantonis philosophy....lebron praised dantoni all during the olympics saying he would lvoe to play for that man and loves his offesnive system....thats why the greatest coach in college basketball said that dantoni is one of the greatest basketall minds....thats why all he talks about now is defense and slowed down his team and dont play the 7 seconds or less

you have won of the worst coaches in the nba....last year int eh playoffs your ASSISTANT coach was drawing up the play and mike brown was just walking around the sideline...you dont think lebron would want to play for a coach whose known for his offesne and the ame coach that lebron said he loves his offense?? instead he would want to stay with a coach whose offesnive philosophy is here bron take it do what you want???

wow really attack the thing the knicks definatly have over the cavs and thats coaching give me a **** break...

none of the knicks are capable of playing defense?? jefferies has played great defesne for us this year and is a very capable defender though he sucks on offesne....gallinari is a very underrated defense...larry hughes yeah he sucks but is an above average defender...the reason teh cavs are such a good defenseive team is not because of the players you have it is because you have LEBRON....moe williams is not an all star far from it and the only reason he was is because of LEBRON without lebron he wouldnt be an all star

D'Antoni is praised for his offensive system. Unfortunately, offense doesn't win championships, defense does. Mike Brown actually has a good defensive system (one of the best in the league, actually). LeBron knows that.

And for D'Antoni "only talking about defense" it sure hasn't worked out so well....the Knicks are the 23rd ranked defense in the league.

You just got done saying you haven't seen ANY Cavs games this year!!! D'Antoni deserves lots of credit for what he did in PHX, and you point to that as his calling card, and then say he's completely changed his philosophy. Jared Jeffries? Wow. And our team defense is only good because we have LeBron? Interesting. AND LeBron doesn't want to play in a 'system' where he gets to do whatever he wants? You really think so?

i was saying he completely changed his philosophy because he knew he couldnt run that that system with thtese team that shows that he isnt tied to one system he can change and adapt.....if you think your team is as good as a defensive team without lebron your nuts....moe williams was not an all star player in milwaukee now all of a suden he is i wonder why??/ delonte west sucked in boston and now is a competent player hmm i wonder why??

yeah i do think lebron would choose a structured system over a system thats lets him do whatever he wants becaus eyou know why he has complained about mike brown...u really think he wants a coach that in the fourth quarter just says ok go ahead take the ball idc isolation go???

are we really comparing mike brown and mike dantoni???

They've both been Coach of the Year, but I guess Mike Brown is not in D'Antoni's league. And LeBron doesn't want the ball in the fourth quarter. Ok. You win. You'll get to see our team defense up close tomorrow. And we'll see Jared Jefferies.

I do like Nate Robinson, man I'll give ya that. Tough dude.

Im guessing that guy is about 13.

I used to think there was about a 5% chance LeBron would leave, now I think its at .5%. There is just no good reason anymore.
