An article that was just posted...

Associated Press - February 17, 2010 2:24 AM ET

CLEVELAND (AP) - Phoenix Suns general manager Steve Kerr says a decision on whether to trade All-Star forward Amare Stoudemire to Cleveland or elsewhere will probably come down to Thursday's deadline.

Kerr said Tuesday, "Nothing has changed. I'm still gathering information."

Along with the Cavaliers, Miami and Philadelphia have been linked to the Suns as potential trade partners for Stoudemire.

I don't want to spoil the party, but you even posted the part saying that it can't be distributed.

Obviously as a Suns fan, I want the best for us. I don't think you are giving us the best, but with that being said, I would rather have Cleveland win the next 4 championships than any other team. I have nothing but love for you guys. I would love to see the low balling Heat demoralized by you guys; and watch Wade and Kobe :D go away crying.

If Hickson has what you guys say he has, I appreciate the offer and would gladly accept it.

just so mo4allstar doesn't have an epileptic seizure

Wine and Gold wrote:Just now recieved a call from a guy I trust. Didn't have much tangible to add ...but, just told me short and sweet that as of right this moment Dan Gilbert has personally injected himself into the discussions with Phoenix for Amare.

Not sure what exactly this means. If possibly he's trying to work somethig along the lines of a financial aspect to the trade talks that will positively impact the current talks and move Phoenix to go ahead and accept our proposal.

But, as I see it this could be nothing but good, and may swing the trade in our direction sooner rather than later.

I think this shows that we really need to just give Phoenix all we can give right now so that we can finally get an answer one way or another. We have Wshington sitting there with something we probably would like to pounce on, but don't want to move on to that until we know exactly where Phoenix stands.

The way I read it is ..Dan Gilbert is trying to set the timetable up so that all parties know that if Phoenix doesn't jump at what we have offered by a specific time, then it's off the table and we move to another alternative.

We simply can't wait on Phoenix past a certain point. It's my impression we would want something tangible back from the Phoenix side ASAP.

I wonder for who though?

J-Rich? LB?

This move would likely ensure LeBron stays while also contributing to Wade's desire to leave....so it's serious business and it looks like he's ready to put up serious cash to make it happen.

and we have another

Wine and Gold wrote:I have to preface this with a strong statement that nothing is official yet ...BUT, just got another call in and it seems that with Dan Gilbert's late input in talks with Phoenix ..we may very well have a commitment coming from Phoenix on an agreement in principle on a deal.

Something positive may be happening in regards to the Amare trade and him coming to Cleveland.. We're getting some very positive indications is what I was just told ... so hold tight.

Don't have a timeline or what the specifics might be at all. Just a phone call from the same guy I talked to about ten minutes ago and he said that we got some very strong indications that Phoenix is leaning with us.

So I guess we all read this tweet from Wojnarowksi:

The Suns have told Amar'e Stoudemire that he is playing tonight against the Dallas Mavericks, suggesting no imminent trade, sources tell Y!

What if there is still a deal on the table for Amare...

I'm just stating the possibility. Wally S&T(Mo's salary), Moon, and JJ still work. And I think that could be a better deal then the Z and Hickson alone because I think Moon actually fits in the Suns system.

There isn't a chance of that happening. However... Salmons is a different story. I think that he is possible.
