Yeah, it was pretty easy for him to put together a championship caliber team prior to 2008...
Well at least we're not Detroit!

He's made some other killer moves in his time here:
-Lee Nailon for a second round pick that turned into Boobie Gibson
-Tony Battie for Drew Gooden and Anderson Varejao
-All of the contracts he has signed people to have been team friendly (yes even Varejao's)

This guy kills fools in trades.
It was actually Paxson who traded battie for gooden and andy. This trade should be the mans legacy, other than dumping Kemp when he got fat. This really was an amazing trade by pax. Maybe he does his best work under extreme pressure

he's definitely done a nice job for you guys. You've assembled a great roster. I was very apprehensive about the Shaq trade, but he has more left in the tank that I would have thought.

I always wonder what your roster would look like had you guys kept Boozer. He pretty much blew up the season he left Cleveland.

People didn't notice Boozer until he left Cleveland, his game really didn't change at all. I remember arguing with people that Boozer was better than Gooden. If you go back a few years you will see where many posters actually thought Gooden was the better player. All Boozer did when he left Cleveland was get plays run for him and more opportunities.

Isiah had cap space? Not really. He inherited the league's highest payroll when he took over as Knicks GM during the 2003/04 season.

The Cavs didn't have cap space either so I really didn't say that right. But what he did was trade future space for players. Both were attempting to build teams by trading shorter contracts for longer

A bunch of trash

In:
Shaquille Oneal
Mo WIlliams

Antwan Jamison

Though it's seemingly worked out in the end you have to remember that the following players got their ridiculous contracts / contracts they never came close to living up to BECAUSE of Ferry:

- Larry Hughes
- Donyell Marshall
- Damon Jones
- Sasha Pavlovic

Basically if you look at Ferry's track record* he has a history of bringing in absolute trash players at idiotic prices, shuffling those same players around for more trash, and then finally getting older big salaried (yet serviceable) players in the end.

It's interesting to say the least.

Well if we believe in monotheism he's certainly not. Because LeBron is the god, clearly.

1) Ferry didn't get Sasha

2) Hughes, Marshall and Jones didn't pan out, but at the time most pundits were lauding the signing. Its easy to forget given how bad he is now, but at one point Hughes was a young 22-6-5 gaurd who was 2nd team defense when we signed him.

Ferry had to sign a top FA with the cap space that he inherited, and unfortunately Larry Bruise was the only player left. I understand why he signed Marshal and Jones, he wanted to surround LeBron with veteran shooters. I think Ferry's worst move was not landing Shaq at the '09 deadline.

1) But he resigned him in 2007.

2) It didn't take a genius to see how bad the Hughes signing was going to be. Even at that point in time Hughes was known as an injury prone chucker. What was even more interesting though was that in that year where he averaged 22 ppg his defense was also below his average as well (he was more concerned with gambling for steals than anything else)... Ferry looked at that 1 year when signing Hughes and inexplicably overlooked the previous 6...

I'll cut Ferry a little bit of slack on the Marshall signing but even there he got suckered by the contract year warrior (again)...

Shannon Brown isn't trash.
