Re: JJ Hickson
Decided to resurrect this since once again JJ put in a good game. Sure it was against Yi and the Nets but it was a good game all the same.

Glad someone dugg this up. On one hand you can say that his production was against a poor team in the Nets. On the other hand, Lopez is looked at as a future All-Star, and Yi is another young big with a lot of potential/expectations.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

What's funny is that Lopez gets credit eventhough the vast majority of his points were after the game was no longer in question. And his defense was completely nonexistent.

I also thought JJ thoroughly outplayed Lopez esp on the defensive end yesterday.
Actually if you go back to that 2008 draft I really don't see any 'big' that would be a better fit for the Cavaliers' system. At this point JJ is even a better fit than Beasley. I suppose you would have to consider Brook Lopez and possibly Hibbert due to them being 7 footers, and center is a position the Cavs may have to address after Shaq/Z are gone, but Hickson could ultimately become the best frontcourt player from that draft. If he develops a bit of a mid range shot this summer then watch out.

Re: JJ Hickson
This begs the question of how "good" would Hickson be right now if he was drafted by a lottery team? People seem to like the argument that the bulk of Hickson's production comes from being spoon fed around the rim.

Re: JJ Hickson
^Tough to say. New Orleans is in the lottery but he would have Chris Paul spoon feeding him on that team. I suppose on most teams JJ's numbers might be better considering he wouldn't be just a clean up man and 5th option. JJ's offensive numbers are actually impressive considering the Cavs run no plays for him.
Look at Amar'e and how his numbers increased across the board, esp fg %, once Steve Nash showed up in Phoenix. Of course Amar'e has also improved his mid range shooting since he first came in the League.
Edit: Not comparing JJ to Amar'e. Just using stat as an example.

J.J. keeps getting better every game. Now he' also playing center. Just a thought, but is it possible if he keeps improving, he could win Most Improved player?

Re: JJ Hickson
If JJ could produce a good mid jumper during the upcoming off season...He would be dangerous..
