Is LeBron's Eye Injury as Serious As Amare's?

Post#1 » by The Diesel » Mon Mar 15, 2010 5:41 am

Hey guys,

LeBron got poked in the eye by Garnett and said he had blurred vision for about 15 minutes after the incident.

Amare suffered a very serious eye injury which ended his season last year and ended up having surgery and spent several months rehabbing after he got poked in the eye twice.

Shouldn't LeBron wear goggles to avoid getting poked in that eye a second time?

If this is what happened to Amare...getting poked in that eye again = season ending injury and no championship for Cleveland.

What are your thoughts on this?

I think you are over thinking it. I don't think it can be as serious as Amare's.

As much as LeBron gets hit around the face I think he should wear a mask to prevent any injury that'd take him out. Of course that won't happen, but it makes sense to me for him to be proactive to avoid any such injury.

That being said, he didn't have blurred vision at the end of the game so I think that it is unlikely that he was actually injured.

Well it won't be the first time we see LeBron with a mask on.

And if he does wear goggles, I think he would look a little bit like James Worthy. That's just me though.

Amare's recovery took several months and at one point included him lying face-down for ten days straight for 22 hours a day.

If LeBron gets poked in the eye again and it requires surgery...it's going to be terrible for him and the team and it will take several months to recover.

Has there been news that his eye was still bothering him this morning?

One difference is that Amare is complete idiot. He hurt his eye once, and then was quoted as saying he will probably have to wear goggles for the remainder of his career.

That did not last long because he then suffered the second eye injury (detached retina I believe) because he was not wearing the goggles.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

It's tough to tell with Lebron. He plays up any injury he takes so you can't really tell for sure whether it's serious or just his usual drama.

We should lock this up.

There's no evidence LeBron is even injured.
Lots of guys get face raked by KG with no ill effects.
